It's excitin', can't put the books down. Come to the Library, sign up for the summer. You can travel the world, without leavin' town." Over 500 young patrons have . signed up for the summer reading program this week, and library books are going into hundreds of homes to be enjoyed and counted by the readers in their quest to become Summer Reading Wizards. Wiz-ards. Prizes are given to each reader read-er each week, if they reach their reading goals. There are two craft hours, Monday through Friday, at 10:30 and 2:30, where children can make simple, fun crafts. The crafts are the same each day of a particular week, and you must sign up for the day you want to participate in. There is still space at 2:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, so call now at 489-2720 to register for those times. Children who haven't signed up for the reading program after this week, will need to bring a parent in to register in order to participate. Our special library programs will be held on Saturdays at 10:30 this year, beginning on June 24 with Ivy Greene and her "Snakes and Such" program. Christopher Fair and his "Magic Show" will be on July 1, and we will visit "The Bagel Island Bug Resort" with Jean Clay on Sat., July 8. July 15 will be the culmination culmina-tion of the reading program with a "Reading Wizard Celebration," including relays, treats, certificates certifi-cates and door prizes. The summer reading program is an excellent way to keep your children's reading skills sharp through the summer, and give the kids and you a chance to relax with a good book after a busy summer day.
