Tahiti, Bora Bora and the other atolls of the Society Islands are a romantic paradise. While tourists make up about ten percent of Hawaii's population, ' they account for only one percednt of Tahiti's population. Life is slower paced, and less "touristy." Travel between islands in yachts under sail or try the native outrigger canoes. With snorkel and mask, or in glass-bottomed boats, enjoy the glories of the coral reefs, a fisheye view of astonishing varieties of marine life in crystal clear waters. "Expect the World of Us" A Travel Towne 489-3444 224 S. Main, Springville kAsk A i mm How can I budget for Christmas? Chris-tmas? Answer by Liz Gorham, Utah State University Extension family resource management specialist. With about three months to go, now is a good time to make a spending plan for Christmas so you aren't caught in a financial frenzy in December. - Consider what you spent last year. Was it too. much, too little or about right? Have your economic conditions changed since last year? If so, you may want to adjust your spending plan from last years. With your esti mated goal, determine how much you will have to ' save each month. Also consider if you want to take on a part-time job, if other family members can use their talents to draw the additional addition-al income needed, or if there are things your family can go without. with-out. If you draw names with your family or friends, consider setting a dollar limit. Or, try gift giving that utilizes talents rather than money. Now is a good time to discuss the options with the people with whom you exchange gifts. Go shopping without your checkbook, cash or credit cards. Make a detailed list of items you want to buy, prices and the stores that carry the items. Where possi ble, list more than one gift option, per person. Find out when store? have their best sales and when the items you want will be on sale. Visit the stores regularly to check for prices and availability. If you are in serious debt, consider seeing a financial counselor coun-selor and focus on the importance of relationships with your family and friends this Christmas. If you are living on plastic, be resolved to schedule "plastic surgery" soon. The best gift you could give yourself and your family this Christmas is financial freedom.
