Utah County Republican Women are pleased to announce that Senator Bob Bennett will be their guest speaker at the November Novem-ber 4 meeting at the Old Historic Courthouse in Provo. He will give a report on the latest in Washington and information on the upcoming election. The meeting meet-ing will convene at noon. Elections Elec-tions will be held for new officers offi-cers and a light lunch will be served. Members are urged to attend and visitors are welcome. Membership are now due and will be accepted at the door. Members of the Jr. Art Guild at the Springville Madeline, Salt Lake Arts Center and the LDS Museum of Art enjoy pizza parties as well as Church Museum. Anyone, 14 to 18 years of volunteering at the museum. Saturday they will age, that want to join them are welcome. Call travel to Salt Lake to tour major art spots the museum, 489-2727. including Gilgal Gardens, Cathedral of the Utah Valley Artists Guild meets tonight by Betsy Baird The Utah Valley Artists' Guild will hold their monthly meeting October 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the Springville Art Shop, 443 South 200 East. The guest artist will be Roberta Glidden. She will be giving a lecture and demonstration demonstra-tion on painting on silk. She has been commissioned to design Olympic Flags in past years. Meet-ing. The mini-exhibit will be given by Rebecca Lee. She has been painting since she was 15 years old and has taken classes and workshops from many well known artists. She has given art ; exhibits in the Old County Court House and the Seville Retirement Center. The November meeting will have a guest artist, Gabriel Hod-son. Hod-son. She is a Forensic Anthropologist, Anthropol-ogist, reconstructing heads for the crime labs in the area. She works at BYU and UVSC as a sculptor. The miniature exhibit will be held from November 1 through December 2 at the City Building, 351 West Center, Provo. Paintings Paint-ings will be accepted on Friday, November 1, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. There will be a $3 charge for members and a $4 charge for non-members for each painting submitted with a limit of five paintings. Remember, that a miniature painting cannot exceed lOOsquare inches, including the. frame. The paintings must be securely framed with eyes and wires. The Artists' Guild will host a reception for the artists' and guests on November 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. Presentation of awards will be a 5:30 p.m. We invite all members to attend the reception. The miniature exhibit will be judged by Alfonso Flores. He hails originally from Mexico. He has lived in the area for 23 years. He has attained Bachelors and Masters Degrees from BYU in art, oil painting and drawing. He presently works at BYU in the Continuing Education Department doing computer graphics and design illustration.
