The Springville-Mapleton Pony League All-Star Team took first place in the Pony District 13-14 year old tournament held in Springville and went on to take second in state last week. In the district tournament 4hc boys beat Alpine in a 5-inning game, 12-0. Then they played Lindon winning 4-3. The last two games were with Pleasant Grove with Springville winning 19-7 and Hunter safety class to begin A Hunter Safety class will begin August 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Springville High School, 1205 East 900 South. The class will be held in the choir room A-2. The southwest south-west entrance to the school will permit access to the classroom and the class will be held August 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Shooting time is also required and will be assigned during the same week. A registration fee is required and will include all printed material, mate-rial, test, ammunition, targets and rifle necessary to pass the course and receive the blue card. A minimum mini-mum of 12 hours classroom time is required for course completion as well as a score of 80 on the final test and 150 points scored in shooting. Students are expected to show discipline in the classroom and on the range. Failure to do so will terminate their membership in the class! Instructors for the course are Karl Barton and Jim Wiley. Guest instructors include Donna War-nock, War-nock, Richard Warnock, Dean Hutchison, Craig Oler, Gaylin Dallin and Kevin Cherry. The class will finish in time for passing students to be able to purchase all hunting licenses for the upcoming hunting season. LDS Region Bowling Tournament The Springville-Mapleton LDS Region will sponsor its first Bowling Bowl-ing Tournament, Wednesday, August 14, at Regal Lanes, 1200 N. University Avenue, Provo. It will be a four-person team event for all residents, male and female, ages 12 and older. We will bowl three games at Si per game payable that night. It will be a three-six-nine tournament. .
