Reed and Leslie both grew up within two miles of their present home and were married May 26, 1941. They lived lor 25 years in Los Altos, California, where Reed taught math in the junior high school. Since returning to Mapleton, they have been pursuing the life of "gentleman farmer". They recently returned from their fourth LDS mission, having served in the Cook Islands; San Jose, California;.. Nauvoo, Illinois; and Lansing, Michigan. They have ') children, chil-dren, 27 grandchildren, and 4 grcal-grandchildi en. ; Cultural Arts Club The Cultural Arts Club met Wednesday at the Social Center in Spanish Fork for their closing clos-ing meeting. A delicious dinner was served to 22 members and a lovely musical program consisting con-sisting of popular selections from the 1930s through the 1990s was presented by Susan Young of Springville. The following club officers were installed for the 1991-92 season: Helen Bird, president; Reva Lynn, yicc president; Norma Tipton, secretary-treasurer; and Cora Ellis, program chairman. It is the result of many years of research and first hand accounts of early settlers. The author was a natural story teller and the book reads like a story. Her bits of humor appear periodically. Aglaian Literary Club hosts GFWC Convention The Aglaian Literary Club of Spanish Fork hosted the Nebo First District General Federation of Womens Clubs of Utah's Spring Convention recently re-cently at the Spanish Fork LDS West Stake Center with the theme "Lift Off to Greater Heights Through Federation." Ilene Cooper, district president, presi-dent, presided and conducted. Mrs. Cooper introduced Spanish Fork Mayor Marie Huff who gave a welcome address and expressed appreciation appreci-ation for the many projects club women accomplish to better the community. Keynote speaker Sharon Ward, GFWC of Utah Stale President, emphasized the need of all club women to keep involved in-volved in the various areas of improvement: home life, education, edu-cation, conservation, public affairs, international affairs, and the arts. , Club presidents from Fillmore, Fill-more, Delta, Nephi, Payson, Spanish Fork, and Springville gave a report of the accomplishments accomp-lishments of their clubs for the 1990-91 year. An address "The American Woman" was given by Nina Coats.
