A Large Inventory Of: That's Life Who sez by Roger Sturman I read an article the other day that said Hawaiian shirts are no longer fashionable. Just who is it that makes these earth shattering decisions, deci-sions, anyway? I wondered if they bothered to inform the Hawaiians of the fact that they are now out of style? It seems to me if someone wants to wear a brightly colored shirt with a flowered pattern, it's because he wants to associate himself with the friendliness and easy-going manner of the islanders, not because he wants to be in style. Style wise, the whole world has gone crazy. Hawaiian shirts are out, but have you seen what the modern teen-ager is wearing for casual wear this summer? The flowered shirts i. aren't out, they're just down. , Down around the waist. The "in-"( crowd" wouldn't be caught dead without a pair of flowered pants. At, flowered shirt was one thing, you. could still be "Macho" in a flowered shirt, but how can you impress a girl when your pants are prettier then hers? I believe the term for today's clothing is "Uni-sex". We used to get real upset when we whistled at a girl only to find out it was a guy. Nowdays that form of compliment has been abandonded. No one stands on the corner, watching wat-ching all the girls go by, anymore. The guys wear attractive clothing too, but they still haven't figured out how to fill it out as well. Nevertheless, from a distance it's too hard to tell what it is your're watching wat-ching so nobody bothers anymore. Anderson photo collection to be computer indexed During the coming months, starting star-ting June 28th, the entire collection of more than 20,000 glass plate negatives by G. E. Anderson ( 1860-1928) will be indexed on a computer com-puter to aid genealogy patrons and historians. The major collections of these historical photo landscapes and portraits por-traits are owned by Rell G. Francis of Heritage Prints) (600 South Main, Springville) and the BYU Library Photo Archives. Although these plates are identified iden-tified with hames of local ancestors, the information is not complete. To update these records, genealogists Ron Hitchcock wins championship Winners of the Hobble Creek Golf 1 Club Championship were announced today. You wanted to be equal, remember? Now the guys are just trying to keep up with you, like you wanted The trend-setters come from all walks of life. It is considered in good taste to wear faded jeans, multicolored multi-colored hair, T-shirts with no bra's (let's see you equal that one, fellas! ), and even camouflage. I saw a camouflaged wallet the other day, that's something everyone who has ever lost a wallet will appreciate. The type of clothing you wear classes you in this group or another. Somehow, somewhere, there is a guru of that class that decides what the uniform of the decade is going to be. There is one disgustingly popular article of clothing that is being seen more and more. It is the cut-off jeans. I guess it all started when the price of swimming suits went out of sight. , One of the style gurus decided to make cut-offs popular for swimwear. Now the ragged jeans have come out on dry land and are getting shorter and shorter. The other day I saw a couple of kids dancing dan-cing on the street. The girl was wearing a sort of bikini version of blue jeans and a halter top. The guy was wearing his jeans cut off so high that the pockets hung below the bottom of the jeans. Speaking of bottoms, both of the dancers seemed unperturbed that part of theirs showed below the cutoffs. cut-offs. It sort of gives new meaning to the old pharse, Dancing cheek to cheek!" and interested family members of the Springville-Spanish Fork area are invited to immediately examine the file cards and photographs and supply complete names, dates and locations before the final typing is made on the IBM Computers. These records will then be turned over to state libraries, historical societies and genealogy institutions. Family members are encouraged to bring in genealogy sheets and other exact records to verify these files and identify portraits, announces an-nounces Rell G.
