Hex Olsen of Provo, will marry Dennis C. Murray, son of Mrs. Barbara Bar-bara Murray and Mr. Fred D. Murray, both of Spr-ingville, Spr-ingville, on Friday, January 18. An open house will honor the newlyweds that same evening from 7 to 8:30 at Imperial Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 1375 V. 500 N., Provo. Baker-Greenway, Breckenridge temple rites set Donna L. Baker-Greenway of Provo and Edison "Breck" Breckenridge of Springville will be married on Saturday, January 19, in the Provo LDS Temple. A reception wil be held that evening from 6 to 8 o'clock at Springville Museum of Art. All friends and family are invited. The bride-elect is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Waterloo, Canada, and is presently pursuing a doctoral degree in sociology. She is currently employed by the Economics Department at BYU. Her fiance also graduated from BYU with a degree in agronomy and was a soil scientist with the federal government. He served an LDS Mission to Hawaii. Both are workers at the Provo LDS Temple. They will reside in Springville. Dennis C. This volunteer organization assists children in Utah County, including in-cluding Head Start, Utah State Training School, Provo and Nebo School Districts, and Utah County Juvenile Detention Center. Qualifications to be a foster grandparent are: love of children, 60 years of age or older, be in good health. Cleonda Miner to be honored on 80th birthday anniversary The children of Cleonda R. Miner will honor their mother on her 80th birthday with a family dinner to be held at B.Y.U. on January 19. Mrs. Miner was born January 17, 1905 in Springville, Utah, the daughter of Thomas William and Lydia Viola Hall Roylance. She attended school in Springville. She married Alma Miner on Jan. 22, 1923, in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo L D S. Temple. Mrs. Miner was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and PTA, having served as president of both organizations. She is still active in The Daughters of Utah Pioneers and The Home Culture Club. She also served as president of these. Cleonda has been an active member of the L.D.S. Church for many years. She served as a teacher in the M.I. A. and Primary, secretary of the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society, as a counselor and president of the Relief Society. She also did visiting teaching for many years, as well as being chairman of the quilting committee. She has always enjoyed working in her garden and yard. Mrs. Miner is the mother of six children: Mrs. Randall (Beverly) White. Orem; Mrs. Bob (Almah) Merrill, Fair Oaks, CA: Mrs. Merlin (Jean) Fox and Mrs. Marshall (Joan) Fox, Springville; Kent Miner, Provo; and Larry Miner, San Jose, CA. She has 24 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. 4 if " w t - it in 'i Tr-iiiiiiiiiimiiiMMiiMm'M The International Association of Lions Clubs are beginning a worldwide program to be presented in the schools, dealing with the harmful effects of drug abuse among the young people of the world. Next meeting will be District Governor Night on January 24. Home Culture Club Crib Corner Members of Home Culture Club will meet January 25 instead of January 18 at the home of Mrs. Eldon Peery at 2 p.m. Mrs. William DeHeer will be co-hostess. Weight control classes set here Beginning January 21, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center will offer its ten-week "Weigh" to Fitness Fit-ness behavior modification weight control classes. These classes are open to men and women and are taught by a registered dietitian. Classes will be held Mondays at 4 p.m. in Springville in the basement of the professional building housing Instacare at 269 East 400 South and at 5:30 p.m. at Spanish Fork High School. Room 26. The fee for the class is $50 with the possibility of receiving $30 back for meeting attendance, at-tendance, exercise, and weight loss requirements. Registration can be done the first day of class. These classes approach weight control from the point of learning how to eat rather than how to diet. The emphasis is on good nutrition, improved physical fitness, and good eating habits. Waterford School to hold benefit concert All individuals and families are invited to attend the Waterford School Faculty and Guest Benefit Concert on January 18 in the Canyon Crest Elementary School Auditorium, 4664 North Canyon Road, Provo, at 7:30 p.m. The program, intended for a family audience, will include: David Blackington, trumpet; BYU Faculty Piano Quartet comprised of Douglas Humpherys, Paul Pollei, Ron Staheli, and Mack Wilberg; David Randall, clarinet; Shawna Smith, violin; and duo-pianists Billie Tuttle and Sally Asay. Individual, senior citizen, and family tickets may be purchased at the door. The Waterford School is a private school grades kindergarten through ten, and is sponsored by WICAT SYSTEMS INC. It is located in Provo and combines the best in classical education with the most recent in technological advancements. Miner Pari Passu Club The Pari Passu Club members met at the home of Evelyn Wolsey for their January meeting. Dorothy Hazel was assisting hostess. President Helen Stirland conducted con-ducted and welcomed all who were present. The "Pledge of Allegiance" was led by Erma Bird and Anna Marie Palfreyman read the 'Collect.' Membership cards were given out and all voted to contribute to the Springville High School Band for their trip to the Inauguration parade in Washington D.C. Diane C. Carr talked about "Stress" and how to cope with it. Two comments that seemed very important are: "say something good to yourself every day in your mirror" and "you are responsible to make yourself happy." A delightful lunch was served by the hostesses to 14 members and the guest. The Februaary meeting will be a guest night to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Social Center in Spanish Fork.
