' Jl.' -O - j Wilhelm Jessen Wilhelm Jessen celebrates 80th birthday Wilhelm Jessen celebrated his 80th birthday on Dec. 28, 1982 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Frahm, together with his family. Mr. Jessen was born Dec. 28, 1902 in Husum Germany. He was a conductor on the German Railroad. After his retirement he came to the U.S.A. He resides at 1010 South 400 East at the . Maple View Trailer park. He enjoys traveling with the Senior Citizens. Congratulation to Ray and Flora Bjarnson who celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary Sunday, Jan. 2. Mr. Bjarnson was 94 years old on Dec. 1 and Mrs. Bjarnson was 87 years old on Sept. 20. Boyer when their children, grandchildren, neighbors, friends, Santa, the Huffs, relatives and carolers came on Christinas Eve. Relatives Selvoy, Carl, Edward and Vesta, Jorgen, Philip and Gail Brown and their 14 children all came on Christmas Evd bringing joy and songs. Family members enjoyed pot luck refreshments, games, carols, and stories, lending to the spirit of Christmas. After the Christmas prayer was given by Delane Donithorne, each opened his or her gift, hoping the Christmas spirit continues con-tinues through the year. Woodfield, Springville, Spr-ingville, will become the bride of Mr. Steven Ray Fidel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chad J. Fidel, Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday, Jan. 7, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The bridegroom's parents will host a wedding breakfast at the Salt Lake Hilton. That evening, the bride's parents will further honor the newlyweds with a wedding reception at the Springville Museum of Art. Special guests will be grandparents grand-parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Cragun and Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Woodfield, all of Ogden. Attending the bride will be her njoys ram program for the evening which consisted con-sisted of Angie Cronquist and Gary Francis, young singers who presented a medley of songs accompanied accom-panied by Betty Francis, "Eu Lriplicate" (Stacy and Paige Wright and Melissa Parker) who presented a delightful program of humourousserious songs; a short story "The Sixth Word" given by Betty Francis; and a beautiful dance "Marys Boy Child" presented by Chris Ollerton. The group also shared "a gift of love" with "Forgotten and Needy people." Delicious refreshments were served serv-ed to the 23 members and guests present pre-sent by hostess Janet Packard and Carol Nielson. The bride-elect graduated with high honors from Springville High School, has studied abroad in Taiwan, and is attending Brigham Young University. Mr. Fidel is a graduate of Highland High School, Albuquerque. He also studied in Taiwan and is attending at-tending BYU. He filled an LDS mission mis-sion in the Chicago Illinois Mission. Timmithy Reed Dallin celebrated his first birthday on Jan. 3. His parents are Rob and Trina Dallin, Springville. Proud grandparents are Duane and Alice Dallin, Springville. Jorgensen has been named nam-ed administrative assistant of the Utah Pageant of the Arts development develop-ment office, according to Betty N. Brady, chairman of the pageant board of trustees. Jorgensen will be the first full-time full-time employee of the arts organization. organiza-tion. Her primary responsibility will be to conduct the $10 million fun-' fun-' draising project which will enable the pageant to build a permanent arts facility on the site recently acquired ac-quired from Alpine School District. She will oversee day-to-day operations opera-tions of the development office, now open at 135 North 100 East, American Fork. She will also oversee the "Charter Member Campaign," Cam-paign," which will involve contacting contac-ting individuals and corporations for contributions toward the pageant facility. A resident of Midvale, Utah Jorgensen has an extensive background in marketing, management manage-ment and sales. She was formerly marketing manager of Britannica Marketing Services, area sales representative for Pitney Bowes, passenger sales manager, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines; legal secretary and travel consultant for BYU Travel Study as well as having banking experience. Kay Christensen, chairman of the pageant development committee, will continue in this position and will conduct committee meetings and develop programs which will focus on the pageant fundraising goals. Lee Ann Jeannette Riding, daughter of Ross and Lura Riding, celebrated her first birthday on Dec. 30. Grandparents Grand-parents are Amos and Eula Riding. All live in Springville. The first British monarch to visit the U.S. was George VI, who crossed the border through Canada. He visited the 1939 New York World's Fair, and lunched with President Roosevelt in Washington.
