He was born Oct. 20 1906 in Cen-terville, Cen-terville, Davis County, Utah to Charlotte Fla villa Lewis and Joseph Goddard Walton. He married Ruth Whitaker in Beaver, Utah, July 5, 1933. The marriage was solemized in the Logan Temple August 3, 1938. Survivors are his daughters and sons, Barbara Jean Davis of Payson, R. Christine Ollerton of Springville, Patricia Louise Davis of Spanish Fork, Jetta Dianne Quinlan of Payson, John Charles Walton, USAF-Iceland, and Michael Lee Walton of Greenriver, Wyoming; two sisters, Ordelle Thurgood of Roy, and Faye Sinclair of Salt Lake City; 40 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was born Nov. 17, 1894 in Kansas City, Kansas to William Leslie and Lydia Shriver Grooms. She married G. Ray Whales on June 27, 1923 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He died in 1979. She was graduated from Ogden High School. She attended the University of Kansas and was graduated from the University of Utah in 1917. She taught English, French and dance in Heber City and at Spanish Fork High School. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving the youth in her Spanish Fork ward. She was a member of the SELF Culture Club. In 1941, she and her husband moved to Springville where she was Relief Society president and active in the Delphian Society and Alpha Betas Club. She read widely and enjoyed painting with oils. Survivors include one son and one daughter, George G. Hales, Black-foot, Black-foot, Idaho; Mrs. Hal M.Aileen) Clyde, Springville; 15 grandchildren; grand-children; 16 great-grandchildren and one brother, William Nelson Grooms of Salt Lake City. Two sons, Delbert R. Hales and Howard J. Hales preceded her in death. Funeral was Saturday, in the Springville Third-Ninth LDS Ward Chapel. Edward Callaway, 69, of Springville died of a heart attack Saturday, Oct. 9, 1982 in the Utah Valley Hospital. He was born March 16, 1913 in Clarksburg, W. Va. to William Arthur Ar-thur and Melinda Wyckoff Callaway. He married Beth Welling on Dec. 30, 1949 in Salt Lake City. The marriage later was solenmized the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He was a member of the Springville 10th LDS Ward and was a retired construction superintendent for the Bechtel Power Corp. He had served as a Sunday School superintendent and a counselor in the Elders Quorum presidency in the Boulder City, Nev. Ward. He was active in the Scouting program for many years. Survivors include his wife of Springville; one daughter and one son, Melinda Jo Evans, Springville and John Edward Callaway, Sandy; eight grandchildren; his mother of Seabrook, Md.; two brothers and two sisters; William A. Callaway Jr., Eppig, N.H.; James A. Callaway, Waldorf, Md.; Mrs. Phillip (Frances) Montgomery, Seabrook, Md. and Mrs. Richard (Kathlyn) of Billingham. Mass. Funeral was Tuesday in the Springville 8th-10th-23rd Ward Chapel. She was born March 10, 1901, to Patrick F. Scott, and Margie Shorey Scott, at Utica, Montana. She married John Edison Breckenridge, April 28, 1919. He died. She is survived by four sons and two daughters: Edison C. Breckenridge, Springville; Justin and Floyd Breckenridge, Great Falls, Montana; Jimmy Breckenridge, Tennessee; Mrs. Robert (Alice) Isaacs and Mrs. Jim (Ida) Lundin, Forest Grove, Montana; Mon-tana; one stepdaughter, Helen Paige, Kansas. She has three brothers and three sisters still living; 25 grandchildren and 48 great- grandchildren. Burial will be Lewistown, Montana. Mon-tana. Lela Stewart Lela Alta Alu Potter Stewart, 87, of American Fork, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1982, in Provo. She was born March 29, 1895 in Loa, Wayne County, Utah, to William Colombus and Alberta Rosetta Vaughn Potter. She married Otis Lysander Stewart on Oct. 16, 1916 in Loa. He died June 24, 1960. Sho was a Practical Nurse and a home, laker. Survivors include two sons and one daughter; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; 'two brothers Axel V. Danielson Axel W. Danielson, 82 of Springville, died Wednesday, October Oc-tober 13, at Mountain View Hospital of causes incident to age. He was born August 3, 1900, at Mayfield. Utah, the son of Bengt and Anna Nielson Danielson. He married Clarice Beardall March 5, 1924, at Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo L.D.S. Temple. He was educated in the Manti schools, and worked in the Bingham mines and was also employed by the D. & R.G.W. Railroad, from which he retired in 1965. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church, and was a high priest at the time of his death. He was a member of the D. & R.G.W. Veteran Club, and of the Springville Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife of Springville, and three sons: W. Allan Danielson of Springville, B. DeMar Danielson of Ogden, and Gene E. Danielson of West Valley City; 11 grandchildren, and 13 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Lewis of Ephraim, Utah, and Ada Shuldberg of Anchorage. Alaska. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. or Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. and four sisters, including Mrs. Buerl Tanner, Springville. Funeral was Wednesday in American Fork. Graveside services will be in the Richfield City Cemetery on Thursday, noon. |
