Taylor of Springville announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Kaye Lynn Taylor, to Michael John King, son of Mr. and Mrs. John N. King of Provo. They will be married in the Springville Art Gallery Friday, November 13. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in their honor from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Bridal attendants will include Pauline Jacobsen, Kalene Johnson, Kathy Waters, and Dianna King. Brandy Jacobsen, Jessica and Autaum Taylor will be flower girls. Best men will be Rick Jacobsen, Harold Scott, Todd Johnson, and Robert Taylor. Casey Hopkins will act as ring bearer. Special guests of honor will be Mrs. Carl Norton of Springville, Mrs. John Taylor of Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Don Duke of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Nathan L. King of Provo, all grandparents of the bride and groom. The bride-elect graduated from Springville High School and L.D.S. seminary. She is currently employed in Provo. The future bridegroom graduated from Provo High School and is also employed in Provo. The newlywed couple plan to live in Spanish Fork. 10- iElil 1 v V xf Wli-ilPSli''l Tami Carter Weds Eric Strong Tami Carter will become the bride of Eric Strong in a Marriage ceremony to be performed this morning in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Following the ceremony, a wedding luncheon, given by the groom's parents, will be held at the Lion House. A reception will honor the couple this evening at the Payson Fourth Ward Cultural Hall. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carter of Payson and Mr. and Mrs. John Strong of Springville. The bride's gown is of taffeta accented ac-cented with seed pearls and French alencon lace. Her bouquet is of white orchids, lily-of-the valley, and stephanotis entwined with English ivy. Attending the bride are Penny Francom, matron of honor; Mary Gordon, Marina Strong, and Denice Mattinson, bridesmaids. The best men are Karl Roylance and Brad Smith. The new Mrs. Strong, graduated from Payson High School and Seminary and attended Utah Technical College. She; has been working as a dental assistant for Dr. John Callister in Payson. i Mr. Strong, a graduate of Springville High School has completed an LDS mission to Manchester, England. He is attending Utah Technical College and is employed at The State Water Resources Department in Salt Lake City. Martin to wed California girl Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Joe Payne announce the engagement engage-ment and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Linda, of Torrance, California, to Wayne K. Martin of Springville Saturday, November 14, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Martin is the son of Helen K. Martin of this city. A reception will be held in their honor in the Springville Spr-ingville North Stake Center. The bride is a graduate of Carson High School, Carson, California. She presently works for TRW, Inc. in Redondo Beach, California. The groom is a graduate of Springville High School and is presently working for Parker-Madsen Enterprises in Walnut, California. The couple will make their home in Torrance, California. Club enjoys program Cultural Arts Club held their regular meeting at the home of president Ina Christensen last Wednesday, Wed-nesday, November 4. Entertainment for the evening was presented by a quartet consisting of Linda Cluff, Shirley Smith, Mary Giles and Janet Woodfield. Lois Hayes accompanied them on the piano. Their theme was "Happiness is: contentment, love, freedom and spirituality. They sang several numbers which was enjoyed by all attending. Gommunity church plans sale The Springville Community Presbyterian Church is holding their annual bazaar, luncheon and rummage sale Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at their church located on 200 East between 200 and 300 South. Everyone is invited to participate in the annual event which will feature Christmas gifts, homemade goodies and many other items. Proceeds from the sale will be used for church projects. Nurses attend semina r Phillip Norman Graves will celebrate his first birthday Sunday, November 15. He is the son of Richard N. and LaRayne Graves of Springville. Nurses from hospitals throughout the southern part of Utah met at Snowbird recently for a two-day perinatal nursing seminar sponsored by Utah Valley Hospital with funding by Mead Johnson. John-son. Approximately 41 nurses attended the semiannual semi-annual seminar whose purpose was to provide a greater understanding of current concepts of caring for pregnant women and new born babies. Nursing education credit was also available to those in attendance. at-tendance. "We hope those who attended this seminar will use the information gained to improve the quality of care they provide to the neonate and his mother," stated Dr. Stephen , Minton, program chairman and medical director of Newborn Nurseries at UVH. Some of the topics presented and discussed at the seminar were fetal monitoring, x-ray techniques, patient and medical personnel needs, nutrition for the pregnant woman, intraventricular hemorrage, neonatal monitoring, and others.
