Golding C. Ernest Whiting C. Ernest Whiting Funeral services for C. Ernest Whiting 85, of 59 East 500 South, who died Sunday, May 10, 1981 at the Utah Valley Hospital were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Springville Second 14th Ward Chapel. He was born Feb. 13, 1896 in Springville, a son of Oscar Newell and Lelia Tucket Whiting. He married Zenna Houtz on April 17, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and she died in 1937. He married Donna Ashcraft on Dec. 22, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active in the LDS Church, he served a mission to Mississippi in 1917 and to San Antonio, Texas, in 1973. He served in many ward capacities. A veteran of World War I, he served in France. He had been state commander com-mander and chaplain for Veterans of World War I. Survivors include his wife; one son and five daughters, Rondo E. Whiting, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Bert (Cleo) Ostler, Funeral services for Richard R. Wightman, formerly of Springville, were held in Arcadia, Cal., April 21. He was born in Springville June 20, 1915, to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wightman. He graduated from Springville High Schoot and received his Ph. D. from Pamona College in California He married L lor,; Condie April 1937. 2he preceded him in death. He was a Lt. Colonel in Provo; Mrs. Neno (Arlene) Antonino, Mapleton; Mrs. Jim (LaRue) Beardall and Mrs. David (Jana) Davies, both of Ogden; Mrs. Douglas (Pauline) Todd, Bountiful; 29 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters, James Whiting, Mapleton; Mrs . Florence Clark and Vern Whiting, both of Provo; Mrs. Beatrice Evans, Mrs. Mary Watters and Mrs. Nettie Thompson, all of Burley, Idaho, and Mrs. Liza Faucett, Salt Lake City. Bishop Ralph Hitchcock Hit-chcock of the 14th Ward officiated at the services. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with military rites. Funeral services were Monday for Theo Harold Golding, 55, who died April 28, 1981 in an automobile accident after an apparent heart attack. He has many relatives in this area. He was born July 17, 1925, in Wellington, Carbon County, a son of Marion Q. and Lois Famblin Golding. He : irried Betty Louise Kicketts Dec. 15, 1944, in Perris, California. Survivors include his wife; one daughter and four sons, Loysanne Little and Charles Golding, both of Provo; Dennis and Jerry Golding, both of Perris; Douglas Golding, Gold-ing, Council, Idaho; four brothers and four sisters, Lavell Golding and Floyd Golding, both of Wellington; Duane Golding, Springville; Ross Golding, Logan; Delma Johnson and Marrion Leifson, both of Provo; LaVaun Riggs, Lewis E. Speckman MAPLETON- Lewis Earsel Speckman, 84, of 618 E. Maple, Mapleton, died Monday, May 4 at an Orem convalescent center following an illness. He was born July 23, 1896 at Fort Worth, Texas, the son of William Henry and Hattie Abye McAnally Speckman. He married Pearl Leona Hancock on Oct. 19, 1919 at Jasper, Tenn. Mrs. Speckman died in 1978. He had been employed as an auto mechanic most of his life. He was a veteran of World War I and had lived in Arvada, Colo., until four years ago when he came to live with ! Funeral services were Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Springville. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He had retired from Los Angeles Chief of Classification prior to his death. Survivors are two sons .and a daughter. Richard C. Wightman and Judy Swift of Arcadia and Robert Wightman of Hollywood, and a sister Josephine Hughes of Pasadena.
