The Ordinance authorizes the inspector appointed under Chapter 4 of Title 12 of the City Code to appoint the building inspector, fire marshall,' and health officers as deputy inspectors. in-spectors. It clarifies and extends the power of the inspector and his deputies to inspect premises within the city for the purposes of abating dangerous conditions and nuisances. The Ordinance also defines what is a dangerous building, which is subject to ab-tement ab-tement under the Chapter. The inspector is given the power to require the repair, vacation, and demolition of dangerous buildings and may post such structures with a notice to vacate. The Ordinance also provides that violation thereof or interference in-terference with the inspector in-spector or his deputy is a misdemeanor subject to a fine to $299 or imprisonment im-prisonment for up to six months or both such fine and imprisonment. Ernest Gasser Ernest Wayne, Gasser, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1981 in the Mountain View Hospital in Payson. He was born July 30, 1901 in Payson to Paul and Alta Alvira Haskell Gasner. He married Verda Leona Huff on April 20, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was reared in Payson and completed his education there. He worked in the coal mines of Price and Eureka. He was a master mechanic for U & I Sugar and Del Monte factories in Payson and Spanish Fork and was a carpenter and cabinet maker. Active in' the LDS Church, he was a high priest and had served in many capacities including in-cluding stake missionary. Smith Gertrude Ellen Brerton Smith, 76, former Springville Resident, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1981, in a Provo rest home following an illness. She was born June 6, 1904 in Provo to R. Eugene and Amelia Olsen Brerton. She married Howard C.Smith April 14, 1921 in Provo, and they were later divorced. She married Orville Spen-dlove Spen-dlove in Ogden in 1955. He died in 1969. Following the death of Mr. Spendlove she assumed the name of Smith again. She worked for many years at Utah State Hospital in Provo. After moving to Ogden in 1954 she w orked in several rest homes in that area. She has been confined to a rest home in Provo for the last few months. She was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Norman G. Smith, and Howard Jerry Smith, borh of Springville; Mrs. Elwood (Melba) Brady, Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.
