I u Page Ten - The Springville Herald - February 7, 1)S( Devils pin Dinos fo nin 36-26 By Craig Conover The Springville Red Devils wrestling team won its last region match last Thursday night by defeating the Carbon Dinos by 36-26 with all of the winning Devils winning by a pin. Trent Harmer started off for the Devils at 101 pounds against Martinez. Harmer was able to score four points on a take down and near fall before he pinned his man with just 36 seconds left in the first round. After this match it was a free - for - all to see who could pin his man the fastest. Kendall Wilson, at 108 pounds, was also able to score four points against Priano for a takedown and near fall before he pinned him with 55 seconds left in the first round, bettering Har-mer's Har-mer's mark by 19 seconds. At 115 for the Devils was Bruce Jenkins against Williams. He was able to score five points before he bettered everyone's mark by pinning his man with 57 seconds left in the first period. Danny Duncan, wrestling at 141 pounds, was next for the Devils against Sandoval and in the third period, after nearly getting pinned himself, Duncan was able to get a reverse on his man and pin him with 51 seconds left in the third and final period. Last Monday night, Bringhurts Painting continued to show their offense as they beat Miners Auto 80-62. Mike Marshall scored 30 points for the losers. In game two, Geneva Rock once again was denied a victory as Jon's Tip Top won 63-53. Jon's outscored Geneva Rock 20-9 in the final eight minutes to come from behind for the win. Friday night saw probably the best offensive of-fensive team in the league, Bringhurst Painting, demolish M&R Equipment 84-63 as Kent Barry kept up his scoring pace, getting 31 points. The win keeps Bringhurst Painting in third place, well ahead of the rest of the pack. Pioneer Drive Inn remains unblemished, but not by big margins, as they edged Swiftway Vacuums 78-70. Chris Jensen had 24 points for the losers. In Friday's final contest, Steffans Realty blasted out a struggling Geneva Rock team 82-54. Saturday night was the closest contest, when Grobbens Pizza was caught by Jon's Tip Top to tie it up at 55-55 with two seconds on the clock. Jay Mower tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer to give Jon's a 57-55 victory. Jeff Preston scored 22 points for the much improved im-proved Pizza Pan team. In the final game, Fillmore's State Farm fought off a valiant effort by Miner's Auto to survive sur-vive and record a 56-55 victory.
