Ron Liebman co-stars in the drama as a tough detective involved in the case. Alex Rocco (pictured with Miss Weld) guest stars in the role of a jealous lover. Also guest starring is Peter Masterson, portraying a detective detec-tive who raises questions as to the fairness of the investigation. Doris Winters (Miss Weld), who is separated from her husband, reports to the police that her two small girls have mysteriously disappeared from their beds. A massive police search is launched. Miss Winters insists that her distasteful lifestyle should have no bearing on the investigation. The case suddenly takes an ominous turn when the girls are discovered dead and she s indicted in the Killing ot one child. Competing for the Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group citation are: The Kendalls, Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Asleep at the Wheel and The Oak Ridge Boys. Royce and Jeannie Kendall, who comprise the father daughter duo, began in the business in 1970 when their version of Leavin' on a Jet Plane' was released on the Stop label. Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn In 1972 the duo signed with DOT and had two significant hits with 'Two Divided by Love' and Everything I Own ' After an unsuccessful stint with United Artists the duo moved to Ovation Records The Kendalls became the first country act for the Chicago-based Chicago-based label. The Kendalls' second single for the Ovation label was 'Live and Let Live,' which was released only two weeks before the radio stations turned to the B-side and found the smash hit Heaven's Just a Sin Away.' This single was me last cut on the second side of their first album. The entire album, having been recorded in one day and mixed the next day. is still at the top of the country album charts After the single picked up so much air play. Ovation re-relased re-relased it with two B-sides rather than change the winning win-ning combination of Live and Let Live' and Heaven's Just a Sin Away ' The release spent four weeks on the charts at the no. 1 spot and went on to sell over 750.000 copies. According to Royce Kendall. Ken-dall. "We ve got a hit that the radio stations won't let die." This year's presentation will take place on Thursday. Feb 23 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles The awards show will be televised live by CBS.
