Senior of the Week Bob Casper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Casper of Mapleton, has been named Springville High School Senior of the Week. Bob's interests and talents lie in many areas. He enjoys skiing, and he is a member in the SHS Ski Club. He excells in sports and has achieved great honors in golfing, including both regional and state championships representing Springville High. He will also be a member of the tennis team. Bob plans to attend BYU on a golf scholarship where he will major in business. Piblic Notices Guordiansmp and Probata Notices Consult County Clerk or the Respective Signers for Further Information ORDINANCE NUMBER 2-78 AN ORDINANCE REZONING AN AREA WITHIN THE CITY OF SPRINGVILLE FROM RA-1 RESIDENTIAL AGRICULTURAL ZONE TO GC-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONE, AND CHANGING THE OFFICIAL ZONE MAP OF THE CITY OF SPRINGVILLE ACCORDINGLY. AC-CORDINGLY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SPRINGVILLE, UTAH: SECTION I. AMENDMENT AMEND-MENT TO ZONING MAP. The Official Zone Map of Springville City is hereby amended as follows: the following area which is presently zoned RA-1 residential Agricultural Zone is hereby rezoned GC-1 General Commercial Zone; and hereafter all rules and regulations applicable to the GC-1 General Commercial ZONE SHALL APPLY WITHIN SAID AREA. Said area is designated as follows, to-wit: The 9th North Addition to Springville City according ac-cording to the official annexation plat thereof on file in the Office of the Springville City Recorder and the Utah County Recorder. SECTION II. DECLARATION OF PROCEDURE FOLLOWED IN AMENDING ORDINANCE. OR-DINANCE. The Springville City Council hereby finds and declares that the foregoing amendment was submitted to the Springville City Planning Commission; that said Planning Commission considered said amendment amend-ment and thereafter submitted the same to the City Council with its recommendation that the area aforesaid be zoned GC-1 General Commercial Zone: that the City Council held a public hearing on Tuesday, January 3, 1978, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council chambers at the Springville Civic Center, 50 South Main Street, Springville, Utah, which hearing was continued to and concluded on January 17, 1978, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in said Council chambers, relating to the zoning change made by Section I of this Ordinance; that notice of the time and place of said hearing was published in the Springville Herald, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, on December 15, 1977, more than fifteen (15) days before the date of said hearing; and that at said public hearing all parties interested and citizens in attendance were given an opportunity op-portunity to be heard. SECTION III. CONFLICTING CON-FLICTING PROVISIONS REPEALED. All ordinances, or resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict with the provisions set forth in this Ordinance. SECTION IV. EFFECTIVE EF-FECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall go into effect upon its passage and publication. SECTION V . PUBLICATION. The City Recorder is directed to cause this Ordinance to be published in the January 19, 1978, issue of the Springville Herald. Reply: "One, two three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten." .Mothers of Middle School girls attended physical education classes Friday the 13th and played their daughters in a modified game of volleyball with the Alpha Pod (Sixth grade) girls played against their mothers in volleyball games last Friday. Girls were quite surprised at the athletic abilities of their Middle School play moms in Friday, the 13, was the Mother-Daughter Volleyball games held at the middle school under the direction of Linda Lewis. Mothers came during each Physical Education period to particpate in volleyball. Little did they know that they would end up on scooters playing a related volleyball game with a mini net. Afterwards they played a modified volleyball game with the cage. ball. For the most part, the students were quite surprised at the abilities of their mothers. In fact, because the mothers played as well, both daughter and mother are already anticipating the great Softball tournament at the end of the year when once again the daughters will challenge their mothers.
