But many people don't realize that another living part of the family the lawn also thrives with proper health treatment. Here are some tips from gardening experts on keeping your lawn healthy and beautiful. 1. Be sure to water the lawn properly. Water the seed well as soon as it is planted and make sure you keep the topsoil moist until seeds begin to germinate. Once the lawn is well-established, soak it to a depth of three to six inches whenever the soil becomes dry and crumbly, but don't water if rainfall is adequate. Excessive watering can cause lawn diseases. 2. Be sure to check the degree of acidity of the soil. Don't add lime unless you're sure it's necessary. It can be needlessly expensive and even harmful. - If you burn ointments, wet compresses com-presses and soothing lotions will help the discomfort. A bland cold cream or a lightweight mineral oil may be applied ap-plied to the skin. If the pain is excessive or if extensive blistering is present, consult your physician. GOLD The Lord High Admiral of the Isles in Scotland is a gold digger. That's because he has the right to any treasure which lies under the sea in his domain, including Tobermory Bay, under which is supposed to lie the wreck of the Spanish treasure ship, Florencia. She was sunk in a storm after the famous sea battle in which Drake defeated the Spanish Armada. The Florencia is supposed sup-posed to have been carrying the gold which was to be paid to the Spanish seamen after they had won the victory. But they didn't win, and many of the supporting ships fled. They sailed up the West coast of Britain and the gold ship got as far as Tobermory, when it sank. The Duke of Argyll holds the Lord High Admiral title, and three dukes have tried to retrieve the treasure. Divers have reported that a ship undoubtedly lies at the bottom of Tobermory Bay. But all they have been able to bring up are odds and ends, including some helmets and a small cannon.
