Show The July 3 meeting of the Kiwanis Club was held at Kelly's Grove with Taylor Reynolds as toastmaster. He introduced Governor elect, Howard Maycock who gave a report of the Atlantic International Kiwanis Convention which was attended by he and his wife Mary and H. Taylor and Beverlee Reynolds. Tonight's meeting, July 10, will be at Kelly's Grove. Mark Robertson will be toastmaster for a musical program. Fire closure now in effect Increasing fire danger and threats of man-caused fires has made it necessary to put into effect certain fire restrictions for National Forests and State and private lands in Utah. The State Forester and Regional Forester, U.S. Forest Service have jointly declared the following acts to be prohibited on areas along the Wasatch Front and Oquirrh Mountains as shown on the map in crosshatching. 1. Setting open fires of any kind, .except campfires within the facilities provided for them in improved campgrounds, picnic areas, or permanently improved places of habitation or except as authorized by a Forest officer or State fire warden. 2. Falkner, 66, of 680 East 700 South Springville, died July 7, 1975 at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo of a chronic illness. He was born July 13, 1908 at Mammoth, Juab County, the son of Peter J. and Emerine Hawkins Falkner. He was married to Pearl Underwood April 13, 1932 at Provo. Mr. Falkner attended school in Park City where he was active in athletics. He was employed at Geneva Steel Co. prior to his retirement. Mr. Falkner's hobbies were outdoor activities. He was a member of the IDS Church. Surviving, wife of Springville, one son and one daughter, Jerry L. Falkner and Mrs. Darlene Sporizen, both of Springville; seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Marguerite) Wing of Springville; a half brother and half sisters, Richard D. Falkner, Bountiful;' Mrs. Mae Paul and Mrs. Marie Bickley both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dale Tilley, Washington State.. . Funeral serivces will conducted con-ducted today July 10, at 11 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel where friends may call prior to the service. Bishop Ray Clark of the Twelfth Ward will officiate. Burial will be in the Benjamin Cemetery. George L. Falkner Funeral services held for Jennie L Bird Jennie Layton Bird, 85, of 91 N. 100 W., Springville, died Friday, July 4, 1975 at Payson Hospital of causes incident to age. She was born Sept. 25, 1889 in Kaysville to Christopher and Jane Bodily Layton. She married Leo A. Bird in 1914 in Mother dies on July 7 Rebecca Anderson Runolfson Purser, 88, of Sandy, Utah died July 7, 1975 in Payson of causes incident to age. She was born in Spanish Fork, Septebmer 28, 1886 to Boas and Bjornlaug Gudmudsson Anderson. An-derson. She married Andrew C. Runolfson July 30, 1908 in Salt Lake City. He died December 19, 1944. She married LeRoy Purser in Idaho March 17, 1952." He died November 23, 1965. She was a member of the. Luteran Church and involved in nursing. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Spanish Fork Senior Citizens Group, sang in the choir and singing mothers while in Idaho. Mrs. Purser was educated in Spanish Fork Schools and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She graduated from Hungerford Academy in Springville. For four years she resided and provided the only ' medical assistance available in Salt Lake City. He died in 1944. Mrs. Bird was 'a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Mrs. A. Pierce (Marjorie) Feltcb, Springville, and Leo M. Bird, Bountiful, plus one grandchild. Graveside services were held Monday in Kaysville City Cemetery. the remote area of Desert Lake and Victor. She delivered babies, set fractured bones, sutured wounds and offered general medical care for the sick of the community. Her hobbies were quilting and gardening. Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Loyal B., American Fork; Frank R., Sandy; Mrs. Alvin (Rosezelle) Nebeker, Rigby, Idaho; Mrs. Frederick A. (Ada) Tevis, MarVista, Calif.; Mrs. Vernal (Sarah) Wood, Springville; Mrs. Wilford T. (Darline) Ivie, Dugway; 35 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren; one brother, George W. Anderson, Van Nuys, California; three step-daughters and two step sons. Mrs. Parker was born April 23, 1907 in Edison, Neb., to David Allen and Alice A. Albert Kinser. , She married Stephen W. Parker on Oct. 3, 1926 in Wray, Colo. The marriage later was solemnized in the -Manti LDS Temple. He died Feb. 5, 1964. She lived in Nebraska and Colorado before moving to Spanish Fork in 1936. She was a volunteer helper for the Head Start program for three years and was active as a Sunday School teacher, Relief Society teacher and a singing mother in the LDS Church. Survivors include three sons, Walter Roy Parker, Pocatello, Ida.; H. Allen Parker, American Fork, and Carlton S. Parker,. Spanish Fork; IS grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Henry D. Kinser, Springville; Georgia Blivens, Lexington, Neb.; Irene Charlow, Blackfoot, Ida., and Eleanor Sqhnaple, Exeter, Calif.
