Mayor Norman Graves conducted the meeting and councilmen present were Collin Allan, Blaine Hales, Don Korth and Morris Warren. Mayor Graves reported the purpose of the public hearing was to discuss the request submitted by Mr. Rostron to re-zone re-zone the property located south of the Mapleton Slant Road and West of 1600 West from Industrial In-dustrial & Manufacturing to A-2 Agricultural. The application had also been signed by the other property owners concerned and the planning commission has recommended approval. After a brief discussion pertaining per-taining to the re-zoning application, ap-plication, the Council convened in regular Council meeting. A motion was made by CI. Hales, seconded by CI. Allan, to approve the application submitted sub-mitted by Mr. Rostron to re-zone the property requested from I&M to A-2. Councilmen Allan, Hales, and Korth voted yea. CI. Warren was absent for this vote. Motion passed unanimously by those present. Mayor Graves has requested Johnnie Bleggi to make a report quarterly to the Council as Mapleton City's representative on the Payson Hospital Board. In regards to the proposed resolution pertaining , to delinquent water and garbage accounts, there were some questions pertaining to whether or not the city would be obligated to pay interest on deposits and the length of time deposits could be held. John Hendrickson will pursue these items for clarification. Mayor Graves reported the , Lions Club will accept the responsibility of spearheading a fund raising campaign for the Springville-Mapleton ambulance am-bulance if the Council will select a chairman for them to work with. Mayor Graves will proceed with the selection of a chairman from names submitted by Council members. Council authorized a two inch water line to the new IDS Church property and recreation area with the stipulation that the church will pay actual costs of the installation and a water meter. There will be no charge for- water, .' however, until deemed necessary jj The possibility of exterfding 900 North Street from 1600 West to connect with a Springville street was discussed and CI. Hales will discuss the matter with Springville city officials for their comments. This action is being taken as a result of requests of property owners in this area. CI. Warren reported the new bleachers for the ball diamond have arrived and will be installed in-stalled before the Bronco baseball tournament which begins Thursday. He expressed appreciation to everyone who has helped with the construction of the bleachers, especially to the National Guard for their efforts. Kent Wheeler reported the water line project in Maple Canyon is about completed and they expect to have water in the new pipe this week. The Council decided to go ahead with the purchase of the 1.66 acres in Maple Canyon from the Cattlemen's Association for $1200.00 upon issuance of a warranty deed.
