Parry Funeral services held Saturday for John Parry Funeral services were held Saturday in the Mapleton Wards Chapel with Bishop Dean Tew of the Mapleton First ward officiating of-ficiating for John Conrad Parry, 69 who died May 10, 1972 in the Utah Valley Hospital. Burial was in theSpringville Evergreen Cemetery. He was born June 12, 1902, in Bluffdale, Utah, the son of John Lawrence and Hannah Elizabeth Staley Parry. He married Gladys Durrant, June 24, 1924 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Parry's early married life was spent in Castle Gate where he was active in the LDS Church serving as MIA president, Scoutmaster and Explorer leader. In 1943 he moved to Mapleton and served as High Priest Group Leader, as a member of the Mapleton City Council and the Senior Citizens group. He had been employed at Geneva Steel until his retirement. Surviving are his wife of Mapleton, two sons and one daughter; John R. Parry, Mapleton; William C. Parry, Layton; Mrs. Phillip (Kelen) Whitney, Springville; 13 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Joel Parry, Orem; Alma Parry, San Francisco, Calif.; Isaiah Parry, Dragerton; Mrs. Leah McKenna, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth JSraith,,, Casper, Wyo. ; Mrs. Leone Rey, Elmer City, Wash. Mother dies Funeral services for Daisy M. Bardsley, 75, mother of Mrs. Norman (Kelen) McDonald of this city, were held Monday in the Centerfield Ward. Mrs. Bardsley died May 12, 1972 in a Salt Lake Hospital. , She was born on Nov. 29, 1896 in Gunnison, Utah to Peter and Sarah Bzemus. She married Joseph Vearl Bardsley on May 11, 1917 in Gunnison. He died on Aug. 17, 1964. . She is survived by four sons and five daughters, 30 grandchildren, grand-children, 21 great grandchildren, grand-children, four sisters and a brother. Burial was in the Gunnison City Cemetery. Mother dies Funeral services were held Wednesday in Provo for Clara Hoier Carter, 77, Provo, who died May 13, 1972, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ralph H. (Erma) Peay of Mapleton. Golden L. Carter of this city was her son also. She was born December 18, 1894, in Provo, a daughter of Neils Peter and Ezra Jorgenson Hoier. She married Loren Ezra Carter on September 24, 1914, in Provo. He died August 3, 1963. She is survived by five sons and two daughters, 22 grand-, children and 19 great grandchildren. 111! Fuller Funeral services were held Saturday at the Wheeler Mortuary Mor-tuary for Susie Whiting Fuller, 84, Salt Lake City, who died.May 9, 1972 at her home of causes incident to age. Burial was in the Springville evergreen Cemetery. She was born April 16, 1888, in Mapleton to Albert Milton Whiting and Harriet S. Perry. She married James Albert Fuller, March 21, 1912. He died Nov. 5, 1917. She was a member of the LDS Church. She managed boarding houses in Winter Quarters, Sunnyside, and Colombia, Carbon County, for 25 years. She worked as a practical nurse at the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City, for nine years, having taken her practical nurse training after she reached the age of 60 years. She organized and sponsored the first Girl Scout troup in Carbon County. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Donald H Fuller of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Cora Marks of Salt Lake City; one brother and four sisters, Oscar Whiting of Mapleton; Mrs. Ethel Madsen and Mrs. Howard" (Lorna) Tibbitts of Lorenzo, Ida.; Mrs. Ralph (Fern) Waddopps, Idaho Falls, Ida.; Mrs. Katherine Stjate, Colombia. Accident victim rites today at mortuary Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Berg Mortuary of Springville for Danton Emory Starker, 22, who died May 15, 1972, in the Cottonwood Cot-tonwood Hospital of injuries suffered a week before in an automobile accident. Friends may call at the mortuary an hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. He was born January 16, 1950, in Massillion, Ohiq, to Myron Daniel and Martha Agnes Mesko Starker. He jeceived - his. education in Greenburg, Ohio, graduating from the high school there. He joined the Navy in 1969 and served on ammunition ships. He was discharged from the Navy Sept. 25, 1970. He moved to Springville in June 1971 and worked with his brother. In April of this year he started to work at the Kennecott mines in Eureka. He was a member of the LDS Church in the Springville Seventh Ward. His hoppy was photography. Survivors include his father, Springville; his mother, Akron, Ohio; one brother, Truman Starker, Springville; half-brother, half-brother, Wesley M. Starker, Millersburg, Ohio; a grandmother, grand-mother, Kathryn Mesco, Mantua, Ohio. Infant dies of prematurity Graveside services were held Tuesday in the Provo City Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary for Todd Bryant Thurston, 15 day old son of Jan and Barbara Patrick Thurston who died May 12, 1972 at West Covina, Calif., of prematurity. He was born April 27, 1972. Survivors include his parents and a twin brother, Patrick James, all of West Covina; a grandfather, Wallace Patrick, Torrance, Calif.; grandmother, Mrs. M. Thurston, Layton; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Patrick, Springville. mmemim. $5195 Members of the Hafen family attended the funeral services in San Pedro, California for Zetta Hafen Larson, 88, who died May 8 in a Long Beach hospital following surgery. Services were held May 10 at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel under the direction of LDS officials there. Interment was in the cemetery there following the services. Mrs. Larson was born October 23, 1883 in Springville, the daughter of Artist John and Thora Tweede Hafen. She attended at-tended early-day schools here and in Salt Lake City. She married David Larson in Salt Lake City. He precedes her in death. She was a life member of Hafen Dallin Club here, always paying her dues yearly for the organization. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Anna) Patton, and Delia Norris both of California and a number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Glen(Rachel) Beutler of Springville and two brothers, Fred and Joseph Hafen of Provo, all of whom attended the services. ser-vices. Services held for ex-resident Funeral services were held Saturday in Kaysville for Springville native, Helen Meservy Lindsay, 70, who died May 11, 1972 in a Bountiful hospital of a heart problem. Mrs. Lindsay was born Sept. 1, 1901 in Springville to George Robert and Clara Southwick Meservy. She married Dawsbn Lindsay April 3, 1925 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mrs. Lindsay attended schools in Springville and Provo, graduating from the Brigham Young University. The Lindsays Lind-says lived in Heber and then in Salt Lake. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, one son, 17 grand children, two great grandchildren, a brother and two sisters. Burial was in Heber City. Services held Wednesday for H.B. Parry Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Wheeler MorturaryChapel by Bishop Ben Killpack of the Seventh Ward, for Hugh Bailey Parry, 73, who died May 13, 1972, at a Provo Rest Home. Burial was in the Manti City Cemetery. He was Born May 17, 1898 at Manti, the son of Elizabeth Bailey Parry. He married Hazel Axelson September 28, 1922 at Salt Lake City. Mr. Parry spent the early part of his life in Manti, later moving to Springville. He also spent four years at Ely, Nev., where he was employed at Ruth Copper pit. He had worked as a railroad engineer for the D&RGW Railroad and Geneva Steel plant prior to his retirement. Surviving are his widow and one don, Don G. Parry, both of Springville; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Edith Bessy, San Jose, Calif. Jones Mapleton man officer in Utah corporation Utah Capital Corporation, a small business investment company, has named Carl D. Jones of Mapleton as its secretary and treasurer. Mr. Jones was formerly the Director of Housing at Brigham Young University and general Manager of the G.S.J. Company, Provo Mr. Jones holds the rank of Captain in the U. S. Naval Reserve and is also a stake president of the BYU Ninth LDS Stake. In his new position he will have the responsibility of managing the Utah operation for his company. Graveside rites for twins Friday Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the American Fork City Cemetery for infant daughters of Russell and Dona Dickerson Snyder of that city. The twins were born May 16, ' tat the American Fork Hospital, one of whom died at birth and the other died May 17, 1972. They died of prematurity. They are survived by their parents, a sister, Hollie and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Ranae Averett) Snyder of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Rod Dickerson of Lehi; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus J. Averett of this city. Native buried here Tuesday - Funeral services for Melvin Emmett Dalton, 85, Springville native, who died May 12, 1972 in the Cottonwood Hospital, were held Tuesday at Midvale. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Dalton was born Jan. 4, 1887 at Springville, a son of John Melvin and Adelaide Chase Dalton. He married Edna Hyde Aug. 19, 1909 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died Feb. 26, 1970. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, 32 grandchildren, grand-children, 6 great grandchildren and several sisters.
