CELERY HEARTS VICTORIA (Serves 6) 2'i cups chicken broth W teaspoons salt 4 peppercorns 1 lemon slice Vi bay leaf 3 hearts of celery, halved Vi cup salad oil 2'A tablespoons white wine vinegar Vi teaspoon dry mustard 'A teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning Combine chicken broth, 1 teaspoon salt, peppercorns, lemon and bay leaf in a skillet; heat to boiling. Aad celery hearts, cover, and simmer 10 minutes, or until tendpr-crisp. Drain, cover and chill. Combine oil, vinegar, remaining teaspoon salt, mustard, lemon-pepper, paprika, pimiento, green pepper and chives in small jar; cover and shake thoroughly thor-oughly to blend. Arrange celery hearts on crisp lettuce on chilled salad plates. Top with drained sardines. Spoon dressing over all. rom lite Jleratd JiieS 20 years ago Master Sergeant Floyd E. Halstead is serving with the Korean Military Advisory Group. He arrived overseas in February and has previously served with the 25th Infantry Division in Korea. He is the husband of Helen Halstead, of Springville. Elected to serve as the new president of the Springville Jaycee Wives is Mrs. Marjorie Miner. Chosen to serve with her are Mrs. Lee Done, vice president; Mrs. Phyllis Humphrey, Hum-phrey, secretary; Mrs. Anna Marie Palfreyman, two year director, and Mrs. Joan White, one-year director. A farewell and testimonial service honoring Elder Robert Frazier will be held Sunday, September 13, in the Springville Sixth LDS Ward Chapel. Elder Frazier will serve in the North Central States Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Frazier. Farewell and testimonial services for Elder Glen A. Weight will be held Sunday in the Springville Fifth Ward Chapel. Elder Weight has been called to serve in the Finnish LDS Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight Lee Huff had completed construction of a scale model pioneer covered wagon. It measure four feet in length and is 16 inches wide. It is complete in every detail from running gears to canvas top. He spent three years collecting the materials and about six months in assembling it Harry Hulce of this city raced the stork recently and "lost" by about a half block. Starting place for the "Big event" was the Hulce residence, 251 E. 400 N., which he left at about 11:00 p.m. enroute to the Utah Valley Hospital with his wife. Just a half block from the hospital, a brand new boy was born to the Hulces. The new father rushed to the hospital and luckily met a doctor in the entrance. He told his story and help was dispatched dispat-ched to bring in the mother and new arrival. Mother and son are doing nicely and it looks like Dad will survive! Plans for the construction of two new elementary school buildings in Springville are now in preparation according to B.L. Isaac, clerk of the Nebo School Board. Farewell services will be held Sunday eveing in the Mapleton LDS Ward for Elder Elliott Murphy. He will serve in the Southwest Indian LDS Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Murphy. Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class Keith H. Brown is currently serving with the 55th' Attack Squadron. The squadron -just returned to its home base, the Naval Air Station at LeMore, California, after six months duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Brown, of Springville. According to news reports this week, a five man crew headed by Specialist 4th Class John C. Dickerson of Mapleton fought its way through Communist infested in-fested jungle in South Viet Nam to safety after their helicopter was downed. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil C. Dickerson, of Mapleton. Several Springville youngsters won the right to compete at the Utah State Fair in recent talent finals for the Utah County Farm Bureau. The dance team of Robert Stokes and Mary Lou Martin won fist place and Sherry Piper, who performed with the baton took second place in the senior division. Another dance team, Kenny Goates and Derma Lyman, took first place in the junior division. Robert is the son of Mrs. Vera Stokes, Mary Lou is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W.
