Club members and their guests enjoyed an outstanding evening of music at their meeting last week. ' Talented ladies' quartet sings for local Kiwanians, guests An outstanding evening of delightful musical entertainment en-tertainment was the feature of last week's meeting of the Springville Kiwanis Club. Members and guests enjoyed the singing of the Mellow Mrs. ladies quartet. Introducing the talented group to their audience was Mrs. Blair (Dickie Jane) Sargent, toast-mistress toast-mistress for the evening. The ladies sang a variety of songs. The meeting this evening will be ladies night, held at Kelly's Grove, beginning at 7:00 p.m. In charge of the program will be Clarence Jensen, with Vic Frandsen acting as toastmaster. In the discovery of truth, in the development of man's mental powers and privileges, each generation has its assigned part; and it is for us to endeavor to perform our portion of our species. The crisp golden corn flake crumbs crust pleasingly contrasts and complements a smooth creamy filling made with sweetened condensed . tnilK.. and naturally na-turally tart bottled lemon juice. An, optional sauce accompaniment accompani-ment can be prepared using raspberries or another preferred fruit. !4 cup sugar i3 cup regular margarine or butter LEMON BREEZE Y2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) 1 cup packaged corn flake crumbs 2 eggs, separated 3 tablespoons sugar y2 cup bottled lemon juice V2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin 1 15-oz. can sweetened condensed milk 1. Measure the cup sugar, margarine and cinnamon into saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture mix-ture is syrupy and bubbles form around edge. Remove from heat. Add corn flake crumbs; mix well. Reserve 2 measuring-tablespoons measuring-tablespoons crumbs mixture for topping. With back of tablespoon table-spoon press remaining crumbs mixture evenly and firmly in bottom and around sides of 9-inch pie pan to form crust. Chill. 2. In small saucepan combine lemon juice and gelatin. Place over low heat and stir until gelatin is dissolved; cool. 3. Place egg whites in large mixer bowl; beat until foamy. Gradually add the 3 tablespoons sugar. Beat until stiff and glossy. Set aside. 4. Place egg yolks in small mixer bowl; beat until thick and lemon colored. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and gelatin gela-tin mixture. Gently fold sweetened condensed milk mixture into egg white mixture. Spread evenly in corn flake crumbs crust. Sprinkle top with reserved crumbs. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Cut into wedges to serve. Accompany with fruit sauce, if desired. Yield: 1 9-inch pie, 8 servings.
