Mapleton for Max L Hall Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday in Mapleton for Max Larsen Hall, 50, who died Sunday, July 26, 1970 following a heart attack at his home at 1095 Maple St. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Wheeler Mortuary. He was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Mapleton, a son of Armond and Rebecca Larsen Hall. He married Theona Brems on June 11, 1940 at Nephi. . Mr. Hall was a member of the LDS Church. He worked at the old Ironton plant of U.S. Steel as a boiler house operator until the plant closed, serving as grievance man for the union while employed there. Following the closing of Ironton, he began working for the Utah Highway Department as an inspector. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, and gun-smithing. gun-smithing. Surviving are his widow of Mapleton; two sons and a daughter, Dean B. Hall of Edgemont; Lynn B. Hall of Springville; and Marsha Hall of Mapleton; five brothers and a sister, Armond Hall of American Fork; Arthur Hall of Springville; Donald Hall of Spanish Fork; Ross and Grant Mapleton; and Mrs. Jack (Melba) Burton of Provo. Services held for kin of local people Funeral services were held Monday in Spanish Fork for Blair E. Warner, 48, who died Thursday, July 23, 1970 in a Salt Lake City hospital. He was the husband of the former Betty Roylance of Springville and a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Roylance of this city. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II. For a number of years he was employed em-ployed at Geneva Steel Co. and for Paul Valgardson housemovers and as a heating and air conditioning installer. For the past six years Mr. Warner managed the Utah State Liquor Agency in Spanish Fork. He was also watermaster of the East Bench Canal Co. He was a member of the LDS Church. He also belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his widow of Spanish Fork; five sons, Steven Rodney, Gary, Rodger and Eric J. Warner, all of Spanish Fork; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. P. Oliver Hansen of Spanish Fork; three brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Vaughn (Fern) Lerwill, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Dean (Donna) Stone, Denver; Jarvis, Allen D., and Reed H. Warner, all of Spanish Fork; Unice Warner of American Fork. Former resident of Mapleton dies in Idaho Funeral services were held Saturday in Malad, Idaho for Katheryn Olson Harding, 63, a former resident of Mapleton. who died July 22, 1970 at Malad. She was born October 2, 1906 in Mapleton a daughter of Nelse C. and Rhoda Naef Olson. She married Ralph W. Harding on Aug. 30, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died Sept. 25, 1969. Mrs. Harding was a member of the Valley Garden Club, Home Culture Club, and War Mothers Club at Malad. Survivors include seven children, Ralph R., Blackfoot, Ida.; G. Bob, Elk Grove, Calif.; DonL., Washington, D. C: Tom, Malad, Ida.; Mrs. George (Joyce) Friedenberger, Idaho Falls, Ida.; Mrs. Gaylan (Nadine) Cox, Bountiful; Mrs. Owen (alice) Miller, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; 19 grandchildren; grand-children; two brothers, Bob and Al Olson, Caliente, Nevada. Miss Grove was born in San Diego, Calif., March 15, 1945, a daughter of Martin Woodrow and Alberta Jane Owens Grove. Her early life was spent in Paonia, Colo, and she graduated from high school there. A member of the LDS Church, she served two years in the Northwestern Mexican Mission. She was active in auxiliary organizations of the LDS Church. She was a student at Brigham Young University, where she also worked as a staff secretary. She was affiliated with Beta Sigma Phi. Surviving are her parents of Springville; a brother and four sisters, Martin W. Grove Jr., Springville; Mrs. Dwain (Norma) Rosson, Harvard, 111.; Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Ellena, Paonia, Colo.; Mrs. Art (Beverly) Kendall, Eckart, Colo.; and Mrs. Randy (Patricia) Benefield, LeMoore, Calif. S. Department of Labor in Denver. Frank A. (Tod) Potter, Regional Manpower Administrator, Ad-ministrator, said the program will be financed with $218,000 in MDTA funds that were recently approved. The Department of Employment Em-ployment Security in Salt Lake City will administer the program. Training will range from four to fourty-four weeks, depending on the skill selected. Beginning wages for the trainees are $1.60 an hour. Length of the contract is 17'2 months, through December 30, 1971.
