Marshall, army chief of staff, believes the majority of Americans favor universal uni-versal military training but that the minority opposing it has been getting the roost publicity. Marshall, speaking before a Sal vation Army 80th anniversary celebration last night, said that he felt that the deciding vote on the compulsory training Issue would be cast by the women ox America. Speaking extemporaneously, Marshall said: This is a great decision to bt made by our country and the future fu-ture of all countries is at stake. "I personally believe the deciding de-ciding vote will be cast by the women of America, the mothers and grandmothers, on what is to be done, one way or the other. Sharing the platform with 80-year-old Gen. Evangeline Booth, daughter of the founder of the Salvation Army, Marshall assailed opponents of the one-year training train-ing plan, who "feel that it cuts across democracy."
