When B-29 Superfortresses of the 20th Air Force dropped bombs on Mukden, in southern Manchuria, Man-churia, on Dec. 7, they were blasting the 20th Jap-held city since these aerial giants began combat operations last spring. The map above shows the 20 cities, with dates of raids. Because often more than one city was hit in a single mission, there were 35 actual bombings, over a period of 19 days. (U.R) A national na-tional summary made by Prof. H. E. Botsford of Cornell university uni-versity reveals that in many states, particularly in the Eastern and North Central states, there is still an association of the term "storage eggs" with something that is undesirable. Botsford, who is on leave from the poultry department at Cornell Cor-nell as marketing specialist with the United States Department of Agriculture, points out that 17 states make the labeling of storage stor-age eggs mandatory, but six of them make no attempt to enforce the regulation. In several states the measure is still regarded as one of health, and enforcement is entrusted to the Board of Health. The Cornell professor called, attention to innumerable variations varia-tions in state egg laws and regulations. regu-lations. Twenty-five states have from one to four retail egg grades. In eight states, labeling according to four grades is mandatory man-datory for all eggs sold at retail. Twelve states have "fresh" egg laws, and eggs labeled fresh must conform to Grade A standards of quality. Three states permit the word "fresh" to be used on Grade B qualities, but one of thee this quality Grade C. Statistics WARRANTY DEEDS John Bennett to Anson L. Les-sard. Les-sard.
