As they hurried toward the house, Mrs. Kimball came out carrying car-rying 5-month-old Gordon, who suffered minor burns about the face, with Dale, 4, running beside her. Mr. Kimball went into the house to look for Marva, who had been sleeping in the living room. "Well, I doubt it," Markham retored. The flare of words came shortly before Denzil Brown, chairman of the board, charged that the police "are not doing their Job" in keeping busses and automobiles off the sidewalks, causing a menace which he predicted pre-dicted would happen at the new bus depot. Mr. Markham went a step further and stated that "he police Just don't function.' Last on the list of people to feel the brunt of hot words at the ! meeting was City Atorney I. E. Brockank, who, althbough not ! present was scored by Mr. Brown, : who charged that "there is no ! cooperation between this board and the city attorripy."
