Whipple of Provo, became the bride of Monte J. Petersen, Pet-ersen, ship's cook first class, during dur-ing quiet ceremonies Sunday at 4 o'clock at the home of the groom's mother, Mrs. Vera Brumjak. Mr. Petersen Just arrived from Pearl Harbor, where he has been stationed for 15 months. He is to report at Treasure Island, California, April 24, for west coast assignment. Bishop John Brailsford married mar-ried the young couple, In the presence of close family members. The bride wore a pale green suit with brown accessories, andj a corsage of gardenias. She wasj attended by Mrs. Hal Gadd asj matron of honor, who was In a! accessories and a corsage of roses and gardenias. Dwayne Petersen, brother of the groom, was best man. A dinner immediately followed the nuptials, the dining table being be-ing atractive with a three-tiered wrdding cake and roses, carna-ions carna-ions and daffodils. Both young people are graduates gradu-ates of the Provo high school, where Mr. Petersen was prominent promin-ent in athletics, and was president of the Boys' organization. He was captain of the basketball team, also played football. He attended the B. Y U for a year. Youngsters At j Birthday Party Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas gave a party for their four-year-old son. Robert F. Thomas, a huge red. white and blue birthday cako. encircled with tiny American flags, decorating the long serving serv-ing table. Novelty paper hats and Caster baskets were given as favors. Hostess At Bridge Party An evening of bridge was followed fol-lowed by a midnight supper at the home of Mrs. Robert Thorne Monday, when she was hostess to members of the DeNovo club. Novel contests, in keeping with the current radio programs, were earried out nnd prizes awarded. Marjorie Williams presented the program numbers, which included a sketch on the origin of Easter, by Miss Marrial Clark, a humorous humor-ous reading by Renae Morten-sen, Morten-sen, and a 4-F club song. In behalf of the group, Mrs. Virtue Vir-tue Thompson presented a fine gift to the honoree. The beautifully appointed table was covered with a green cloth and held four yellow tapers and a centerpiece of jonquils. A well arranged buffet supper, in an Easter motif, was served. Good for the Easter dinner, too. Fruit Refresher (Serves 6 to 8) One and one-half cups fresh or canned fruit or berries, U to V cup sugar, 1 package fruit-flavored gelatin (any flavor), 1 cups hot water. Combine fruit and sugar end let stand 10 minutes. Drain; measure juice and add water to make 1 cup. Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Add fruit Juice. Chill, stirring occasionally oc-casionally as gelatin sets to give soft Jellied appearance. Then add fruit and serve in sherbet glasses. Or line sherbet glasses with fruit and fill with plain Jellied mixture. mix-ture. Garnish with mint or maraschino mar-aschino cherries. Sunshine Pie One package orange-flavored gelatine 1 cups hot water, 1 orange, or-ange, sections free from membrane, mem-brane, M cup grapefruit, sections free 'from membrane, 4 tablespoons table-spoons sugar, 1 baked 8-inch pie shell. Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Drain fruit; add water to juice to make i cup. Add sugar and juice to gelatin. Chill until slightly thickened. Turn Into cold baked pie shell. Arrange fruit sections on top. Chill until firm. Note: Fruit may be added to dissolved gelatin.
