Mrs. Sterling ErcaSnbrack reviewed re-viewed the book, "Claudia," and Mrs. Bernice Dastrup sang two vocal solos, accompanied by Mrs. Zenith Johnson. Also,' they sang duets.. Mrs. Mary Hafen gave a tribute to the bride, and welcomed welcom-ed her; into the family. A tasty luncheon followed. , The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph-White of Garfield, and the pretty wedding was an event of Sept. 15, in Garfield, at the bride's home. A reception immediately im-mediately followed, 200 guests attending at-tending the smart function. Mr. Passey was home on furlough fur-lough from Camp San Luis Obis? po, Calif., where he is a member of the medical detachment of the 145th F. A., Utah National Guard. His bride is with her parents in Garfield, for the time being. Both attended the B. Y. First Ward Elders' Social Elders of the First ward will hold their annual autumn social Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock in the ward amusement hall. Republican Women Join Federation SPANISH FORK At the ini-the ini-the Women's Republican club of Spanish Fork, it was unani-cously unani-cously voted by the members mem-bers to join the Federation of Women's Republican club of Utah. An intensive membership, drive was planned and Mrs. Clarence Argyle was named membership chairman. Mrs. Willis Brockbank gave an Interesting talk on "The Constitution of the United States, Its Origin and Purpose." Mrs. Grant Snell reviewed the book, "Dollars Won't Defend Us." Mrs. E. E. Knudsen gave a talk on "Current National Legislation." Mrs. D. Clark Williams, president, conducted the meeting.. Club to Present Fireplace Project To Girls' Home Construction of a huge outdoor rock fire place at the M. I. A girls home in Provo canyon, a project by the Provo .20-30 club, is well underway. Harold Ward, chairman of the project, and other Twenty-Thir-tians broke the ground for the new fire place some time ago, and Sunday laid the base. Several members, after work- ins: during; the forenoon at the site, were joined at noon by theirl partners for a luncheon. Those present included President Presi-dent and Mrs. Ted Maynard, Mr, and Mrs. Harold Ward, Dick Grimmett, Grant Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Rich, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Burmingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Melburn Ford. 646 East Center street.
