Harris, who recently re-cently returned with Dr. Harris from an interesting year spent in Iran (Persia) gave a fine talk on her exiM'riences in that country at the Provo High School Women's Wo-men's meeting held Thursday afternoon aft-ernoon in the school library. The speaker touched on Persia as "a land of contrasts, of great wealth and poverty, of fcreat fiuitihty and great dryness." In connection with her remarks on the people, their beliefs and customs, cus-toms, their mode of living and their disadvantages, Mrs. Harris showed a rare collection of articles of handicraft which she brought home with her. She displayed hand-hammered silver vases, filigree fili-gree jewelry, also jewelry made from hand-painted ivory. Beautiful Beauti-ful ropes and table throws in the block printing, and rich Persian Pers-ian rugs also delighted the women. Mrs. Merrill Sandberg, secretary, secre-tary, presided and introduced the speaker. The Farrer junior high school violin quartet, composed of Dorothy Jeppson. Jean Slack, Kay Ililgendorff and Donald Ras-liiu.isen, Ras-liiu.isen, played three beautiful numbers. They were accompanied by Evelyn Hilgendorff. The Rev. E. F. Irwin of the Trovo Community church, officiated, offici-ated, the couple being attended by the bride's sister, Emily Hansen, as maid of honor, and os best man, the groom's cousin, Llton Bubel, who accompanied him here from North Dakota. The bride wore u going-away suit of navy wool, with an eggshell egg-shell blouse and navy accessories, and a corsage of sweet peas and roses. Miss Hansen was also in dark blue. Immediately after the 11 o'clock ceremony, a wedding dinner was given at the home or the groom's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kelsch. Covers were laid for members of the bridal party and the bride's parents, also, Joseph Hansen and Mrs. Art Sturgil, brother and sister sis-ter of the bride; Mrs. Bill Kelsch, Mrs. Karl Kelsch, Mrs. Lester Johnson of SalLna, and Mr. and Mrs. Kelsch. The couple loft for a honeymoon honey-moon in the northwest, and they will make, their home in Center, North Dakota. D. U. P. Camp At Regular Meet Camp No. '2, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met at the home of Mrs. Sadie Jones Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Jones gave the history of her grandmother, Alice Higgin-botham Higgin-botham Miller, and the lesson on "British Contributions to Utah," was given by Mrs. Elva Hoover. Alene and Bernice Randall sang, and an original skit. "O My Father," Fath-er," was presented linder the direction di-rection of Mrs. Veoma Done. The cast of characters follows: Eliza R. Snow, (ccmposerj Mrs. Vera Nelson; Emma Smith. Mrs. Eliza C. White; Zina H. Young, Mrs. Ada Waddell; Joseph Smith, Albert Al-bert S. Jones. The Randall girls sang- the number, also, Bernice sang an original song, "The Family Fam-ily Tree," composed by Mrs. Sadie Jones. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Hazel Lewis, Mrs. Edith Max-field Max-field and Mrs. May Boarclman. Refreshments were served to 2G members. Hostesses for December will be Mrs. Eleanore Duke. "Y" Mentor Girls At Luncheon Forty "mentor" girls of Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university were guests at a luncheon held Thursday in the university cafeteria. Theme of the meeting, which was presided over by Mrs. Nettie Ntff Smart, dean of women, was "Teamwork."' In addressing the girls, Mrs. Smart praised the activities of the mentor group in acting as big sister3 for newcomer to the campus this autumn. She also discussed the general purpose of the mentor system. Responses were given by Thelma Farnsworth, associated Women Students president, and by mentors men-tors themselves. Junior Sorosis Selects Name The Junior Sorosis members, recently re-cently organized, chose the name "Phile Nada," "at thetT 'business meeting held Thursday afternoon at the Victor J. Bird residence. Mrs. LaNell Hayward, president, was hostess. The group is sponsored by the Utah Sorosis club," and will meet every other Thursday afternoon. Election of officers was completed com-pleted at this session, Mrs. Owen ii. Rowe being named second vice president; Mis. Cliiiord Sowards, secretary and Mrs. Arthur Mc-Arthur, Mc-Arthur, treasurer.
