StOCKS NEW YORK, Feb. 1G ULi: Stocks moved Irregularly today with activity again centered on low grade Issues. . . Leading issues, easier early, came Lack. Many rose to small net ga!ns. Steels and motors were firm late in the session. Rails were about steady, utilities mixed and copprrs firm. ; T Annconda pained more than a point and Kennecott a point. Out- lock for a higher domestic copper price was a factor. Recovery In motors came after Ward's Automotive Reports, Inc., reported automobile production for the week at -95.050 cars and trucks, against G3.9S5 a week ago and 79.560 a year ago. Studebaker was the most active in the automobile group and held about steady. Chrysler . had a small gain. . . BLOOD (Continued from Page One) told the committee the building of such reservoirs in Utah would not expand the agricultural acreage, but would stabilize agricultural economy by conserving waters and insuring full water supply to lands that now lack sufficient water wa-ter to mature crops. Representative Franci3 Case of South Dakota, co-author of the Wheeler-Case bill passed last session ses-sion authorizing a small reservoir program, had spoken just ahead of the Utah delegation, urging the committee to incorporate an appropriaion of at least $5,000,000 In the forthcoming bill. Governor Blood backed argu-mens argu-mens made by the Utah congressmen, congress-men, explaining in detail the state's reservoir program. He stressed the fact that the small reservoirs would benefit, small farms; keep farmers on the farms they now occupy, and keep them off the relief rolls. " The governor urged that the committee appropriate not less than $5,000,000 a year for small reservoirs. "We can use a million mil-lion a year in Utah alone," he aaid. He emphasized that Utah la a state of small farms. Of the 30.C96 farms, 1440 cover less than 20 acres. Because the farms are small, and present water supply sup-ply Inadequate, it is of utmost importance that every acre and every bit of available water should be utilized to the limit, the governor gov-ernor held. - In order that there shall be no delay in the survey of the Colorado Colo-rado river-Great Ua.iin project, Governor Blood appealed to the committee to appropriate $900,000 lor reclamation HUrveys, the flame amount granted last year. ; . The Utah delegation, In asking for funds for small reservoirs, said they wanted the money appropriated appropri-ated under terms of the Wheeler-Case Wheeler-Case law, which places no limit on the cost of any project. They are not in favor of the O'Mahoney bill reported to the senate recently, recent-ly, which fixes a $50,000 limit and eliminates all , but one of the 10 projects on the revised Utah program.
