Principal W. W. Brock-bank Brock-bank is1 general chairman in charge of arrangements. The home, coming celebration is to be beld in connection with the dedication of the new high school gymnasium, finishing touches on which are being rushed rush-ed to completion for the coming event. Of special interest to program committeemen, alumni members and the town in general 13 word-from word-from Mrs. Cora Thorn Bird ' of Los Angeles, Calif. ; of her Intentions In-tentions to attend the homecom ing celebration. Mrs. Bird is one cf the alumni members wiio has made good in her chosen field of music and of whom the school and town are justly-proud. Response from the many Invitations Invi-tations sent out - to former students stu-dents indicate thatva large group of former students are making an effort, to return to their home town and join with others in the homecoming f estivities. - Holiday decorations are being placed throughout the high school to welcome the visitors and add to the celebration program, and students and teachers are cooperating co-operating in their efforts to assure as-sure all an enjoyable time. The homecoming b?ginsat f a. m., on Friday, December 22, when patrons and alumni are invited to visit the school and remain throughout the day. Lunch will be served at noon, and in the afternoon, a program and a ball game will be- held in the new gymnasium building. The big alumni dance is scheduled for that evening. On Sunday, dedication of r the gymnasium m the afternoon ana presentation of the "Messiah," under" direction of Carl L Nel- son,. In the evening, are pian- Wu. V "Superintendent Owen t. Bar-nett Bar-nett will confer with Principal Brockbank to outline the dedication dedi-cation program and other details of the big celebration, which will be announced in connection with the time, place, and other detailed arrangements for the homecoming in next week's issue of the Herald. Glassv And Glassv i Uarieiy Shoiv at High School For Ucnicn, '7S T Commemorating the seventy-fifth seventy-fifth birthday of Mrs. Lucy Robertson, Rob-ertson, well known matron of Springville, her children will hold open house on Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 2 until G p. rc., at the Robertson home, 212 . North Fourth East street, to which all her friends and relatives are cordially cor-dially invited to attend. Mrs. Robertson was born in Springville, December 20, 1864, a daughter of William and Polly Maria Perry Smith. She has lived here always, taking active the Relief society, and in civic af-cess as a -song" hit writer," fairs' T he is the mother of nine sons ai j daughters, eight of whom are living and most of whom will be in attendance at the birthday reception. The children are Mrs. Jessie Wadley of Pleasant Grove; Hilton A. Robertson, president of the Japanese L. D. S. mission at Honolulu, T. II.; Mrs. MatUe Cran-dall, Cran-dall, Mrs. Isabella Houtz, Mrs. Zina Metcalf, Mrs. Retta Harmer, Leo and Bernard Robertson of Springville.; Compositions By Utahn Published Glenn Law of Springville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Law, who some time ago received national recog nition for his original music com positions, has again received reco- part in church work, especially in nltion which promises him sue-. According to word .received here, his "Prelude to Pain" and "All Too Soon" have both been purchased by an agency in Hollywood, Holly-wood, Calif., the first composition is to be on .the air next week while the latter, is to be in circulation circu-lation in January. Not only was his work enthusiastically received by the coast agency but the first named , composition was given every promise of becoming a popular song hit. Glenn has for some time been a popular entertainer in this vicinity vi-cinity with his original compositions composi-tions and his work now promises to bring him success and honor in other parts. Glenn left about two weeks ago to contact the music agency with whom he had. corresponded, at Hollywood.
