An unusually delightful function func-tion of ilonday evening', was the annual Dixon-Taylor-Russell employes' em-ployes' Yuletide party, held , at the Provo store. - One hundred and seventy-five persons, employes of the eight D-T-R stores and their partners, were in attendance, announces William D. Norman, chairman on arrangements. The highly entertaining program pro-gram included . the following: Welcome, Arthur D. Taylor, manager; man-ager; community singing, led by Peter If. Jensen, accompanied by Miss Ardyth Jensen; comic song. Merle Sargent of Spring-ville; Spring-ville; accordion solo, M1S3 Phyllis Johnson of Provo; dramatic skit, Elton Li. Taylor, John H. Harmon, Har-mon, Barbara Henrie and Max-ine Max-ine Holden of Price Vocal solo, Miss Frances Johnson John-son of Spanish Fork; comic reading, read-ing, Mrs. Lowell Crabbe of Pay-son; Pay-son; jokes. Vern A. Cullimore of Pleasant Grove; violin solo, Miss Maxine Taylor of American Fork; Impersonation of store executives by the following: William G. Norman, Murray Loveless, Horace Hor-ace E. Peay, Gordon H. Weight, Eldon F. Lewis, Karl W. Johnson, John-son, John M. Liebhardt, J. Vord Spencer. Curtis Taylor and Eldon A. Dixon. ? After the program, all were seated at three long tables and an elaborate , luncheon was served. serv-ed. Poinsettas, pine boughs and other Christmas decorations proved attractive, and red and gTeen candles were also arranged. arrang-ed. The refreshments committee comprised Mesdames Catherine J. Norman, chairwoman; Elsie K. Miller, Myrtle S. Howe, Beatrice SI. Russell, Maurine G. Tavlor, Alta. H. Taylor, Sena R. . Dixon and Celestia J. Taylor. The Provo Pro-vo office girls served. Dancing followed, music being furnished by the , Rhythm Makers. Clivell Club Session Enjoyable Plans were made for the Clivell club's annual Christmas dinner, at a meeting held Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Lots McDonald. The affair is to be held at the Edna Mae Hedquist home," Sunday, Sun-day, Dec. 17, at 5:30 o'clock. ' Sewing and a tasty luncheon were the diversions, and during the evening, a . letter was read from a former member, Mrs. Paul Hunt (Irma Souter) of Buhl, Idaho. The members wrote a letter to Mrs. Hunt ' Mrs. Ralph Christiansen was a guest, and the following- members mem-bers were present: Mesdames Vern Bullock. 'W $len, Gleaner Convention Announced "M" Men and Gleaners 'of Utah stake will hold a convention Tuesday Tues-day evening, Dec. 12, at 7:30 o'clock, at College hall, at which Dr. and Mrs. Richard R. Lyman of Salt Lake City, will talk on "Courtship and Marriage." A mosaic will follow, which will depict the life of an L. D. S. youth, and eternal marriage. At 9:30. o'clock, in the Women's gym, an informal dance will be held, with the Swingsters furnishing furn-ishing the music. - Play Read At "Fireside Chat" "M" Men and Gleaners of the Fifth ward held a "fireside" chat at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Frank T. Bennett, after ehurch Sunday night. Miss Irma A cord read "Dust of the Road," George Lake entertained enter-tained with guitar selections and a song, and Bob Bowman played the violin. Community singing was followed by mixer games and delicious de-licious refreshments were served to 60 guests. The "M" Men officers were in chaise, including Maurice K. Hen-inger, Hen-inger, president; . George Lake, vice president, and Marion Henderson, Hen-derson, secretary. Fireside Chat" Well Attended A ' "fireside chat" was held by the "M" Men and Gleaners of the Second ward, at the home of Miss Edna Myers Sunday night after church. - misa ironteua Porter gave a reading, . and the group sang Christmas songs. Professor Quizz was played. Delicious refreshments were served to 35 guests. Public Card Party Delightful ' The Rebekahs tendered a successful suc-cessful public card party Saturday evening at the I. O.. O. F. hall, delicious refreshments being served serv-ed to 60 guests after the card games. Visitors were present from Salt Lake City. Bridge high score prizes went to John Lundahl and Mrs. Mary Corbett, while the second favors were won by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hollingshead. The "500" high scores were received by B. H. Bower and. Mrs. Margaret Ander-Bon, Ander-Bon, and JMrs. Bower and S.l R. Hampshire took second honors. The beautiful quilt was won by LeRoy Pratt of Bingham. YV V, Women's association and wlil be held in the new Timpanogos Golf clubhouse. club-house. Committee members arranging for the dinner are Dr. and Mrs. C. F. Eyring, Professor and Mrs. H Grant Ivins, and Mr. Percival P. Bigelow. The nature of the program to follow the dinner has been an nounced simply as a ' "surprise program" by Mr. and Mrs. Kief er B. Board Meets Here Much business was transacted and plans outlined at the meeting of the Utah county board of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, held Saturday afternoon at the First ward hall. Seventy-five women attended, including 17 board members and representatives from 25 camps, announces Mrs. Sarah H. Passey, county president, 1ho was in charge. Community singing was under j the direction of Mrs. Emma Jones, with Mrs. Sadie L. Russon. of Lehi, second vice -; president, accompanying. ac-companying. The lesson on "Pio neer Celebrations," was given by Mrs. Olive Thorpe, and a correlative cor-relative poem and solo were furnished furn-ished by Mrs. Ruth Brockbank of Spanish Fork, first vice president, and Mrs. Ethel Lewis, respectively. The historians were in charge of Mrs. Adria R. Porter and Mrs. Amanda Johnston, and Mrs. Florence Flor-ence B. Lambert, registrar, gave instructions on the filing of mem bership papers. Sixty women have been registered in the last six months, and 41 new applicants for membership were reported. Plans were conipleted for the Christmas party to be given at the Utah County infirmary Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Passey will act as chairman, and will be assisted by Mrs. Florence Baird and Mrs. Mabel Kirk. A round-table discussion follow ed, and important subjects were discussed. Proyo Couple Married Vaunda Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mitchell and Ray L. Marrott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Marrott of Provo, were married in the Salt Lake temple Monday evening. Pres. Stephen L. Chipman performed per-formed the ceremony at 9 o'clock, in the presence of the bride's parents par-ents and a party of 18 relatives and close friends. After the ceremony, cere-mony, supper was served in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Marrott returned to Provo Monday night, and will make their home on West drive.
