The occasion was the annual fall invitational held Saturday evening in the First ward hall, which was illuminated , only by the light from jack o' lanterns. An interesting and horrible creature was a baboon,, with cocked hat, crouching crouch-ing on the mantel, and nearby was a baby baboon, also wearing a Hallowe'en topper. All about were skeltons, cats, witches and ether wierd-forms. The crowning scare" was the old witch "lying in state" in the hallway. j Dainty -Hallowe'en table covers and napkins were used and novel favors were given. Bowls of roses formed" the centerpieces and beautiful beau-tiful - chrysanthemums were arranged ar-ranged about the rooms. An afternoon of card3 and handwork was enjoyed, Mrs. Andrew Broad-dus Broad-dus won the bridge high score. Later, the group attended a movie. . . : . . . . 9 Hallowe'en Party Delights Crowd Among the gala Hallowe'en parties of the early week, was the affair given by Mrs. Harvey Ford for the Clivell club members Monday Mon-day evening at her home. ; All sorts of costumes appeared on the scene, and Mrs. Lester Allen, as ''the wickedest of witches" won the prize. The rooms were lighted by jack-o-lanterns, and cats, skeletons and witchespeered from the walls. A huge "lighted pumpkin pump-kin Centered the table, on either side of which was a lighted black candle. - ; ' . The guests were obliged to make a trip through : "ghosts' tunnel," where they ran upon all kinds of horrifying creatures. Later, up stairs, they played Hallowe en cames, fortunes were told,- and Mrs. Andrew McDonald told a hair-raising Hallowe'en story. Delicious refresnments were served and novelty favors given. Plans were discussed for the state beauticians beautici-ans convention to be held in Salt Lake City, November 5, 6 and 7, and it was 'unanimously decided decid-ed to close all beauty, shops in the county November, 6 and 7, in order that the .operators might have an opportunity to attend the convention , sessions.
