The socially prominent couple will be married in January rites. Mr. Scripps is a member of the Scripps family, owners of Scripps newspapers of which Provo Daily Herald is a member. Many social events are planned on the west coast to honor the couple during the coming social season. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas K. Nuttall. Bride is the Former LaVon Rasmussen. Newlywed Make Home In Provo After Marriage -Young Mr. and Mrs. Douglas K. Nuttall have joined the "younger married social set" in Prvo, following their marriage mar-riage May 11. The former Miss La Von Rasmussen and her husband exchanged wedding promises in the rotunda of the First l LDS ward chapel in Provo, with Bishop J. C. Kindred officiating. of-ficiating. They were honored at a reception immediately after, with Mr. and Mrs. Harris Rasmussen, parents of the bride, as host and. hostess. i LaVon greeted well-wishers in a striking gown of heavy, white traditional satin, fashioned with a scalloped lace yoke, round neckline and long pointed sleeves. Her lace-trimmed veH fell to finger-tip length from a cut-out ttiara, and she carried a contrasting contrast-ing bridal bouquet , of white car-inations car-inations and red roses. ' Mrs. Ella Paxton atteaided La-:Von La-:Von as matron of honor, while Don Mopkinson performed best duties for the groom. Bridesmaids were Gloria Rasmussen, Barbara ; Wright, Jeanne Crockett, Lola Mae Hoover and Geraldine Anderson. And-erson. Ushers were Gary Nuttall, Eli Standi and Duane Rasmussen. Sharon Paxton and Shirleen Rasmussen Ras-mussen were flower girls. The bride was given in marriage by her father. In charge of gifts were Mrs. Bill Carrick, Mrs. Ellen Schwartz and Mrs. Ade Underwood, and gifts were received by Hope Rasmussen Ras-mussen and Sandra Rasmussen. Mrs. Mark Rasmussen presided at the guest book and serving was directed by Kathleen Ras mussen. Ann Kitchen and Geraldine Ger-aldine Adams. Reed Johnson was master of ceremonies at the pro gram. Both the young people are graduates of Provo high school and LDS seminary, and the groom is a former student at Brigham Young university. Mr Nuttall is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh S. Nuttall.. , Following a honeymoon trip to Che southern Utah parks, the new Mr. and Mrs. Nuttall are now residing at 936 West Center in Provo. Salem Couple To Wed Soon SALEM Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gillies of Salem announce the engagement en-gagement and forthcoming marriage mar-riage of their daughter, JoAnn, to L. Stewart Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stone, Salem. The popular bride-elect will graduate this month from Spanish Span-ish Fork high school and Palmyra Pal-myra LDS stake seminary. Mr. Stone graduated from Spanish Fork high school, and served for two years in the navy. He recently returned from a two-year two-year mission for the LDS church in the northwestern states. He is at present attending Brigham Young university. The young couple will be wed in the Salt Lake City LDS temple June 9. Reception Honors Pair HEBER Honored at a wed ding reception in the Heber social hall were newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Wayne L. Ipson, who were married at the home of the bride, the former Helen J. Mur-dock. Mur-dock. In the receiving line with the young couple were her mother, Mrs. Bertha J. Murdock, G. C. Ipson, father of the groom; Mrs. Claudia Konold, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jeffs. The new Mrs. Ipson chose for her marriage and reception a lovely gown of fashionable cut, set off by a corsage of contrasting contrast-ing blooms. Zina Bell Murdock and Joyce Murdock assisted with the serving. . Master of ceremonies for the program was Elvin Giles. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing.
