Colored moving pictures taken during the conclave were shown by Ray Murdock and Dave Bees-ley. Bees-ley. Later an attractive buffet luncheon was served at small tables ta-bles arranged under the lights on the lawn. Springville Allan Barker is spending a few weeks in Springville at the home of his mother, Mrs. Hannah Bark er, recovering from an illness 'during which he was confined in a hospital at Oakland, Calif. Bill Dunievitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Dunievitz of Auburn, j Calif., has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Child, the past I three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Menden-hall Menden-hall have returned to their home in San Francisco, following a ifew weeks visit in Mapleton with iher mother, Mrs. John Holley and ! other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere C. Erb of Richland, Wash., visited the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Condie. They were enroute to vis-i vis-i it in Michigan and planned also o 'visit in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Erb is the former Ruth Condie. Mrs. Lillian Corey has spent the past week on a business trip. She visited a brother. Dr. R. C. Bunker Bunk-er and other relatives and friends Jin Los Angeles, Calif. Honoring George Simkins on i the occasion of his birthday, his i sister and brother-in-law Mr. and (Mrs. Roy Harrington entertained iat a dinner at their home. The Republican Ladies club of Springville will meet next Wed- ' - K - i r .N i- All Soroptimist Canyon Party Is Gala Affair Members of Provo's Soropti mist club met at Upper Falls in Provo canyon Friday night for a merry summer party. Mrs. Virginia Poulson ' was In charge of the delicious supper and Miss Jessie Schofield directed interesting games. A short business meeting was held during the evening. In charge of the party were Rosa Maycock, Virginia Poulson, Doris Peck and Mary Maycock, the latter from Springville. - w m - 60th Birthday Is Observed- OREM The 60th birthday anniversary an-niversary of Clarence Kofford was celebrated Thursday evening when family members gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Laudie in Manila. After visiting a watermelon bust was enjoyed on the lawn by the honored guest and Mrs. Kofford, Mrs. Ned Kofford, Kof-ford, Mr. and Mrs. Martell Keetch, Mr. and Mrs. Merril N. RULON MYERS Erma McGuire - Rulon Myers Tell Vows In Logan Rites' In rites solemnized in Logan LDS temple this week by President Thomas Daines, lovely Erma McGuire became the bride of Rulon Myers. Both young people are popular in Provo's youthful society. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. McGuire and Mrs. George W. Myers went to the temple with the couple, also a sister and brother-in-law of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. John N. Carlton, attended. Following the marriage, the group enjoyed a wedding dinner in Logan and the newly-weds left immediately for their honeymoon trip to Yellow- nesday, Aug. 6, at the home of Mrs. Catherine D. Wills. The program pro-gram planned for the afternoon will include a paper on the United Unit-ed State Congress, to be given by Mrs. H. R. Straw. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miner (Helen Clegg) and little son, are visiting here from Portland, Ore., where Mr. Miner has been enrolled en-rolled in Dental College. Mr. and Mrs. Blake Gammell (Louise Clyde) returned the past week to Los Angeles, Calif., after af-ter a few weeks vacation in Utah. Mr. Gammell produated this spring from Dental College in Los Angeles. She wore a pearl necklace neck-lace to accentuate the pearl coronet cor-onet which held the flowing lace-edged veil in place. The bridal bouquet was of roses and stephnotis. Mrs. Myers graduated from Provo high school and is a former form-er student of . Brigham Young university, where she was affili ated with Lambda Delta Sigma. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi, sorority for young business women. Mr. Myers graduated from the BYU in June and was a member of Brigadier social unit. He served serv-ed overseas during the war, being be-ing in military service three years. A home in Provo is planned by the newly-weds. Mrs. Edwin Lytle of Ursine, Nev., has been visiting here with her sisters, Mrs. Elwood Davis, Mrs. Arthur Newell and Mrs. Clarence Kofford. She left Friday for Salt Lake to visit a few days with another sister before returning return-ing home. Miss VaLoy Keetch visited in Richfield this week with Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Christensen and Mrs. James Thompson who was recently recent-ly married. Miss Keetch attended a lovely trousseau tea honoring Mrs. Thompson Wednesday afternoon after-noon at the bride's parents' home in Richfield. Mrs. Stella Ockerman of Man na tten Beach, Cal., is visiting her mother, Mrs. Agnes Nelson, and other Orem relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ludwig (Deon. Skinner) have returned to their home in California after visiting with Mrs. Ludwig's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Skinner, and other relatives here. After visiting for a week at the Allen Dickey home, Miss Ar-lene Ar-lene Merrill has returned to her home in Blackfoot, Ida. Miss Gen evieve Dickey accompanied her and will visit in Blackfoot for a couple of weeks. Husbands of members were guests. After swimming, the group en joyed a chicken supper. Lorin Millet was master of ceremonies presenting an impromptu program. Summer Party Planned By Women's Council for Guests Plans are going ahead for the summer party to be given by Women's Council of Provo, for all local women. The affair is to be an event of Wednesday at Club Radar. The party is planned in the form of a one o'clock bridge-dessert, under the chairmanship of Mrs. G. R. Judd. Assisting Mrs. Judd are Mrs. Armond Eggertson, ticket chairman; Mrs. Orval Drysdale, Mrs. Don Ferguson, Mrs. Robert Reid and section chairmen. Tickets may be had from these women. Place in center of plate between wings. For antennae: Cut off raw car rots about two inches from tip. Slice lengthwise on board into very thin long strips. Put strips in water and place in refrigerator to curl. Arrange two strips on each plate just before serving.
