Ninth Ward Reunion Set The Ninth ward, which has redoubled re-doubled in population since January Jan-uary 1942, when it was divided from the Manavu ward, has laid gala plans for its third annual reunion, re-union, set for Wednesday evening eve-ning on the church lawn. Commencing at o'clock, there will be a prosram. carnival and refreshments, and all members of the ward 12 years of age and over, are cordially invited to attend, Bisnop Ariel Ballif announces. Primary children will be entertained enter-tained in -the afternoon. The building has. been renovated reno-vated and painted, also, much landscaping has been done to make the chapel surroundings Deauuxui. Camp Fort Utah Elects Officers Mrs. Mattie H. Mitchell, who recently moved to Salt Lake City. was honored it a meeting of Camp Fort Utah, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, held at the home of Mrs. Mary Craner. He is serving in the Philippines with the 85th Wildcat division of the army. Fauvine Club Names Officers 1 Miss Joyce Oaks was elected to serve as president of the B Y high school's Fauvine pep club for the coming year, at a meeting meet-ing of club members Thursday Evening in the home of Miss Annette An-nette Brown. Vice president of the organization organiza-tion is Miss Colleen Harmon. While Miss Kathryn Miller will act as secretary-treasurer. Ruth Howland of Boston, Mass., member of the Women's Army Corps, and SSgt. Philip Ned Pope of the air corps, of Provo. SSgt. Pope is a son of Mrs. Bessie B. Pope and the late Judge Marcellus B. Pope. The young couple were wed May 31, by the mayor of the town of StJ Germain, who performed a French civil ceremony. Later, a marriage ceremony was, performed, by the chaplain at the post chapel, with a party of French friends of the American couple in attendance. Later, Hhey were honored at a dinner .given at the home of friendsand a few days honeymoon was spent in Paris before be-fore the newlyweds returned to their -posts of duty in St ( Germain. The bride has been overseas for a year and is attached to the headquarters and headquarters squadron. SSgt. Pope is a radio operator with the army airways -communications service and has been overseas 15 months. He has been in tne service for two and a half years, and previpusly, attended the U S A C for two years and theB Y U.fbr one year. RUTH HOWLAND) Reopening Of Girls' Canyon Home Announced Plans are going lorward for the opening pt ' the MIA Girl's canyon home, located uj! the North Fork of Provo canyon, Friday, June 22 when approximately 150 girls from Palmyra stake are expected to arrive at the- home to initiate in-itiate th 1945 season. They "will be under the direct supervision of Mrs. Phyllis Smith of Spanish Fork and many interesting features have been planned for their ' stay. Committees are now at work perfecting plans and programs for the summer session at the home which is operated by members of Utah. Provo, and Sharon stakes as part of the summer program of the Mutual Improvement association. A cordial invitation invita-tion is extended to all Bee Hive, Junior and Gleaner girls as well as their friends to enjoy a . period of relaxation relax-ation at the beautiful mountain moun-tain retreat. The regular season for three stakes will commence with a Gleaner week - erid, July 1.
