Hansen Anderson, 83, mother of Brigadier General Orvil Anderson, An-derson, were held In Spanish Fork Wednesday. Mrs. Anderson died Sunday morning in Salt Lake City. She was born In Spanish Forkjhut had made her home in Salt Lake City for several years. Brigadier General Anderson, Who has made himself famous, having made se vera) flights over Germany, is now serving in Eng land with the air forces. His wife came from San Diego, Calif., to attend Mrs. Anderson's (funeral services. Hannah Christensen Funeral services for Miss Hannah Han-nah Christensen were held Friday afternoon in the Second ward chap el, with W. Raymond Green of the bishopric, in charge. The processional and recessional was played by Mrs. Maude Carter, who accompanied the Singing Mothers, who furnished the opening open-ing and closing selections. Mrs. Ella R. Stubbs is the director. Alma T. Madsen offered the Invocation In-vocation and a violin solo was played by Miss Nila Stubbs, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Jennie Larsen. Remarks were made by Chris Jepson, Bishop William D. Norman and Bishop J. Earl Lewis. Mrs. Bern ice DastruD sane, accom panied by Mrs. Zenith Johnson, and the benediction was pronounced pronounc-ed bv Jesse Tavlor. Interment was in the Provo City Burial park, where the grave was dedicated by John Stimpson, a cousin of Miss Christensen. Mrs. Rachel Banks Called by Death SPANISH FO Mrs. Rachel Hannah Banks, 81, widow of John Jarvis Basks, for many years state adjutant general of the Sons and Daughters of Indian War Veterans and Pioneers, died Thursday night at the family home, from a heart ailment. Her husband died in June of 1943. She was born here, Sept. 12, 1862; to William and Elizabeth David Thomas. She was educated in the early day schools and in her ear ly life she underwent all the hardships hard-ships of Pioneer life. She married Mr. Banks in a home ceremony, Jan. 5, 1888 and they were united in temple rites in the L.D.S. temple, Feb. 16, 1921. She was active in L.D.S. church work, serving thirty years as a Relief Society teacher, and on the sewing committee for the dead, for thirty years. She served as a teacher in the Religion class es and as treasurer in the Primary Prim-ary association. She was a mem ber of the choir of William R. Jones and Owen Rowe. She was a member of the ward choir until a few years ago. She was a member mem-ber of Spanish Fork Camp D.U.P. also an active member of the Sons and Daughters of Indian War Veterans and pioneer's. She is survived by six of her seven sons and daughterfs, one daughter having preceded her in death. Survivors are: Mrs. Sarah E. Marshall, and William Jennings Banks of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. R. Farral Menery of Salt Lake City; Arthur J. Banks of Salem, Utah Co., Miss Marye Banks and J. Spencer Banks of Spanish Fork, twelve grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and nine great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Prior and Mrs. Martha O. Rock-hill Rock-hill of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Lucy Lu-cy Rockhill of Salt Lake City. b uneral services will be conducted conduct-ed Monday at 2 p.m. at the Third ward L.D.S. chapel by J. Bufton SPANISH FORK Henry William Wil-liam Bufton, 77, a native of South Wales, but for the past 31 years a resident of Spanish Fork .where he conducted a small notion and tobacco store, died at 1:50 a. m. Thursday of illness caused by a stroke which he suffered seven weeks ago, at the home of his son, William H. Bufton. He was born September 21, 1866, in Lanehouse, South Wales, a son of Samuel and Catherine Morgan Bufton. He married Sarah Morgan January 1, 1894, in Vaynn, South Wales. They emigrated to the United States, landing in New York July 10, 1913. They came directly to Spanish Fork, where they made their permanent home.
