Show i 1 MARRIED IN CALIFORNIA Word comes of the marriage March 17, in San Rafael, California, of Mickeo Tuttle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Tuttle of American Fork, and Eugene Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loring Harris of Provo. The Wedding, a quiet affair, was held at the home of Carl M. Hanson, L. D. S. church branch president, and Mrs. Hanson, with Elder Albert Peterson officiating. Mr. Hai ris is serving as a meteorologist in the army air corps at Hamilton Field, California. He formerly attended the B. Y. U. and was a member of the Tausigs. He was one of the first to win a scholarship in the C.A.A. training course, and learned to fly at the Provo airport. : . Many Guests Attend Smart Wedding At Smith Building Congratulations and good wishes were extended !o newly weds Royal B. Henderson and his bride, the former Elaine Lichfield, at the reception given in their honor Friday evening in the Joseph Smith building. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Lichfield, who were hosts to 350 guests at Friday's Fri-day's smart function. Mr. Henderson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henderson of Vernal, who were here for the wedding. The young couple were married in the Logan temple Monday by Adelbert E. Cranney. They have been honeymooning in Grand canyon the past week, and will leave for Logan, to complete their studies. Kir. Henderson will graduate from the radio engineering department. For her wedding, the bride chos.- a handsome gown of heavy white slipper satin, fashioned with tight-fitting bodice and lace collar and a long train. Over this fell a dainty veil of bride's illusion, il-lusion, held in place with a Queen Anne lace cap. She carried a bride's shower bouquet of orchids, gardenias and roses, with showers of pink rosebuds. Attending as maid of honor was the bride's sister. Miss Afton Lichfield, who wore a lovely model of green sheer; tight bodice, full skirt and sweetheart neck. Her corsage was of pink roses and gardenias. Frocks of- pink sheer, in like design, were worn by the bridesmaids. Miss Norma Taylor and Miss Birdie Boyer of Provo, and Miss Glenna Perkins of Salt Lake. City. Corsages of salmon roses and gardenias were worn. Eccles Caine of Logan, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Lichfield and Mr. and Mrs. Henderson greeted the guests, Mrs. Lichfield appearing in a gown of coral Jersey and wearing blue shoes and a corsage of gardenias and iris. Mrs. Henderson was in a pink floral starched organdie, with corsage of gardenias and ,iris. An uncle of the bride, E. L. Menlove of Ogden, was master of ceremonies, and the following program was enjoyed during the evening of dancing. The Val Norns of .B. Y. U. surrounded the young couple and sang their "Sweetheart Song," after which they presented the honor guests with an electric clock. Carl Mar-tineau Mar-tineau favored with songs, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Lucy Bluth, two solos, Max Butler; solos, Miss Nan Chipman, accompanied by Miss Chloe Friday; toast to the bride, Paul Felt; toast to the groom. Miss Winnifred Kunze; "Sweetheart Song," sung by the White Key girls. Guests were served in the alcove al-cove at small tables, set with dainty lace doilies and bouquets of roses and daffodils. The Val Norn girls assisted. The handsome gift display was in charga of Mrs. Ines M. Stevens, grandmother of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Heber J. Done. Nuptial Plans Are Announced SPANISH FORK Mrs. Edna Hawkins announces the engagement engage-ment and approaching marriage of her daughter, Carol to Leon A. Bellows, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Bellows of Spanish Fork. The marriage will be (solemnized April 14, in the Salt Lake temple!. Honoring the young couple a wedding reception will be held April 15, in the Spanish Fork First ward hall. The youngr couple will make their home at Glendaie, California, where Mr. Bellows is employed at Lockheed Aircraft plant. Sojourners At Card Fete Mrs. Glen Whitney was hostess to members of the Sojourners club Thursday evening at her home, an enjoyable time being spent with luncheon and bridge. Mrs. La-Re'l La-Re'l Johnson and Mrs. Kay Johnson John-son were named delegates to the state convention in Salt Lake City, April 9 and 10. Miss Naomi Weight of Springville, was named club historian. A talk on "Spiritual Rearmament," Rearma-ment," by Miss Beth Miller, was preceded by one - minute silent tribute to the boys in the armed forces. Benefit Musicale 4 Swells Bond Fund A successful event of Friday evening:, was the project entertainment, entertain-ment, a musicale, sponsored by the Women's Council music section sec-tion at the Women's clubhouse. Proceeds from the program will go towards the purchase of a defense de-fense bond, the project for the year. Mrs. Ralph Craven, council pres-ident, pres-ident, welcomed the guests, and Mrs. John Quist, chairman of the music section, presided. Several selections were furnished by the music section chorus, under the direction of Miss Marguerite Jep-person, Jep-person, and with Mrs. Quist as accompanist. Mrs. Edith H. Nuttall of Provo, of the marriage of their daughter. Miss Shirlee Nuttall, to Milton E. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Johnson, of this city; The young couple were-, married at Elko, Nevada, March 21. The bride is a senior at the Provo high school, and Mr. Johnson was graduated from the Lincoln high school at Los Angeles, Calif. They will make their home in Provo. A number of parties are being arranged to compliment the newlyweds. McKay-SmitK Wedding Plans Are Completed Joining two prominent Utah families, the marriage of Miss Barbara McKay and Oliver R. Smith of the Brigham Young university uni-versity faculty, will take place Monday in the Salt Lake temple, to be followed by a reception Monday evening in the Joseph Smith building. The ceremony will be performed per-formed by the father of the bridc-to-be, Elder Thomas E. McKay, assistant to the L. D. S. Council of the Twelve. Members of the immediate families will be present. pres-ent. At the reception, beginning at 8 p. m., guests will be received before the fireplace in the spacious spa-cious reception room by Mr. and Mrs. McKay and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Smith, parents of the bride and bridegroom-to-be. Miss McKay will be attended by her sister, Miss Louise McKay, as maid of honor, and by Miss Sarah Sar-ah Knowlton of Holladay and Miss June Smith, sister of the bridegroom-elect, as bridesmaids.
