Hostesses are "Mrs. Ella Phillips and Mrs. Lorinda -, Phillips, and they extend a. cordial .invitation to all neighbors, friends and relatives rel-atives of the guest of honor. Mrs. Noyes has .made many friends since moving to Provo 11 years ago from Beaver. Her husband, hus-band, William M. J Noyes, died three- years ago. Well active, Mrs. Noyes still serves , her ward as a- Relief, society teacher and seldom sel-dom misses Sunday school or sacrament meeting. - ' She.still enjoys doing handwork: particularly crocheting, and has very-little usefor glasses. And, "I still love to dance every chance 2 get," Bhe'U tell yoa. ; Mrs. Noyes hobby has. been to pass new ideas along to her neighbors neigh-bors and friends, .and she is forever for-ever calling . on her associates, . both for social visits and in time of trouble. ; Of her five children, three sons are living, as follows; Orrin and Albert Phillips of Provo, and W. C Phillips of McGill, Nev. Also there are 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Forbes Foster and children of Long Beach, California, are visiting here for two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Sweeten. They will soon join Mr. Foster at Price where they will reside. Mr. Foster recently was made assistant cash ier of the bank at Price. Sunday the Sweetens and their guests spent the day in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Foster and family. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Nichols have arrived from San Francisco, to enjoy a two weeks visit here with Mr. Nicholes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Nicholes, Jr. Dave Warnick was pleasantly surprised when six of his friends came to celebrate his birthday. The regular Lions Ladies auxiliary auxil-iary luncheon meeting will be held Thursday, February 12th in the Legion hall. The time of meeting has been set ahead to 6:30 p. m., to allow members of the auxiliary who have enrolled in the Red Cross defense class which meets regularly each Thursday night, t be through in time to attend the class. Mr. Cowley, for many years well known in Provo business and civic activities, is the son of Mrs. Sarah Cowley of this city. Now serving in the U. S. army as radio operator and technician, he is stationed sta-tioned at FOrt Lewis, Washington. Washing-ton. The ceremony was witnessed by the bride's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hansen of Tacoma. . Snow Carnival Queen Reigns Officially opening the annual Snow Carnival at B. Y. U., the Snow and the queen ceremonies ceremon-ies surrounding Winifred Jennens, a freshtman co-ed from Detroit Mich., proved a gala event of Friday evening at the Women's gym. Other contestants for the honor hon-or of Snow Queen appeared in a fashion revue of winter sports wear, as follows: Marrial Clark, Marilyn Mackenzie. Clara Jensen, Venice Whiting, Ethel Hogge and Elaine Chris topherson. Queen Winifred was presented with a pair of figure skates, by Keith Ercanbrack, A. M.
