RECENT BRIDE Mrs. Ray Taj-lor. the former Lucile Tucjter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Tucker of Orem, whose marriage to Mr. Taylor, of Thatcher, Ariz., took place August 23, at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. P. D, Spilsbury of Waso, Calif. Friday evening, August 29, the newlyweds were accompanied accom-panied through the Salt Lake temple by the bride's mother, her grandmother, Mrs. Travers Tucker of Provo; Mr.' and Mrs. George Tucker Jr., of Orem, and Mrs. Hazel Humphrey of Provo. , ' The ceremony was performed by Elder Mark Austin of the temple presidency, and the fact that August 29 was the wedding anniversary of the bride's parents,- made the occasion more impressive. A dinner followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Tucker of Salt Lake City. Cut flowers and potted plants were used in decorating, and Miss Allison Tucker, a sister, assisted with the serving. Mr. Taylor is employed at Douglas, Ariz., wnerc the young couple will make their home. STOKES Patriotic Theme Features Women's Council Banquet Officially opening the winter club season, the Women's Council held its annual formal membership banquet Friday evening at the Women's club house. A patriotic theme was featured. Mrs. Albert R. Taylor was general chairman on -arrangements, and introduced MrsT Ralph W. Craven, council president, who welcomed the women. Mrs. J. M. Redd was toastmistress. The event opened with a group from the music section singing the "Song Fest Follies," written by Mrs. Redd. After the entire group singing "America," four Sea Scouts from the S. S. Burnlrig-ham Burnlrig-ham was an event of Thursday, at Evanston. Wyoming. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burningham of Provo. Accompanying the young couple to Evanston, was the bride's mother. . The bride Is a graduate of the Lincoln high school and seminary,' and she has attended the Superior Beauty school at Ogden. Mr. Burningham was graduated from the Provo high school and seminary, after which he attended theB, Y. U. for n year. . ' They will make their home in Provo. C. Jones, treasurer. Mrs. Redd Introduced the theme "The Optimism of Good Food Home Defense Measure," and Mrs. Harold Walton gave a toast, "To the Council." Mrs. W. T. Hasler followed with "The Home-makers Home-makers and Clubwoman's Part in National Defense." A toast, "To Good Foods," was given by Mrs. Clark Allred, and short toasts to the different foods were given by Mrs. R. S. Lawrence, Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Bonnett Mrs. L. W. Elmer Jacobsen . paid tribute to America, during which the "Star Spangled Banner" was sung. A tableaux, "The American Home," was presented by Mrs. Clarence Harmon, Colleen Harmon, Har-mon, Gerald Johnson, Priscilla and Ralph Boswell and Helen Craven, and the evening closed with . all singing "God Blass America." Larsen in Vivian Park. Mrs. Larsen was chairman, and the committee served a tastefully arranged 1:30 o'clock luncheon. Fall flowers were arranged on the tables, and attractive maple-leal tallies were used during the bridge game which followed. Wallace Anderson, of Cedar Fort, announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Ora, to Mr. Gene Peterson, Pet-erson, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Peterson of Lehi. The marriage is to be an event of Wednesday, September 10, in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple. Both young people are graduates grad-uates of the Lehi high school and have been active in church work.
