Navy Mothers Social Held-- i, A pleasant evening was rpent by members of the Navy Mothers Moth-ers club Friday, when they met at the Tiome of Commander Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Miner. The program featured two vocal vo-cal numbers. "Just A'Wearytn for You and T Love You Truly" by Ilia Jean Johnson, accompanied accompani-ed by Marie Ford. Mrs. Eva Thurman In Interesting manner, told of her visit with her Son, Dean Brooks, who is with the navy, and his family at Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Lela Nelson, Mrs. Hazel Walker and Mrs. Bell Sumsicn were hostesses. The program pro-gram featured a talk by Attorney Joseph E. Nelson of Spanish Fork on current legislation. Mrs. Hilda Grant, legislation chairman had the program In charge. A delightful de-lightful musical program was also given with Glenn Law rendering a number of his original compositions composi-tions on the piano and a trio from the high school, composed of Melva Jensen,' Melba Merriott and Arlene Hatch giving two lovely numbers one of which was by Mr. Law. LaVar Davles also entertained enter-tained with two fine vocal numbers num-bers and Misa Elsie Sumsion gave two excellent readings. A discussion discus-sion plans for the annual husbands hus-bands party sponsored by the auxiliary was held under the direction di-rection of Chairman Inez Chader. In conclusion dainty refreshments were served by the hostess to the group. Members of the Ladies Literary club will be guests of Mrs. Manilla Brown at her home Thursday, January 18. The program .will feature a book review by Mrs. Madge Thorn. ; Members of the Notre Chez club high school home making group, held a regular meeting on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the school under un-der the direction of Miss Jean 6mith and Miss Dorothy Shurt-liff. Shurt-liff. Instructors. The girls were delighted with the showing of moving picture slides by Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall of her trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Mrs. Clint Young of Mapleton announces the marriage of her daughter Iris Norwood, to Don Iloundy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Del-bert Del-bert Roundy also of Mapleton, which took place December 26. In honor of the bride, a miscellaneous miscellane-ous shower was given by Mrs. Young, Mrs. Delbert Roundy and Mrs. Inez Harmer at the home of the latter, last Thursday night. Games and a lunch featured the occasion with about twenty-five relatives and friends attending. . Announcement la made of the marriage of Miss Naomi May-cock, May-cock, daughter of Mrs. G. R. May-cock May-cock of this city to Vaughn D. Bushman of Snowflake, Ariz., which took place Friday, January 12, in the Salt Lake temple. Nineteenth Century Club Holds Open House Outstanding in every detail of social arrangement and instructiveness was the open house program conducted for 'members of the Ninteenth Century club and their guests, Friday afternoon at the spacious and lovely residence of Dr. and Mrs. Garland Pace. The serving table was covered with a beautiful Chinese cloth and a gorgeous sliver coffee set was used in serving. Adding to the table setting was a low bowl of jonquils and acacia, which carried out in effective manner the club' colors.
