Fisher at the delightful open session of the Acacia club, held at the home of Mrs. William Connell Friday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Elliott Tattle was assisting hostess, and the president, presi-dent, Mrs. LaVar Christensen, was in charge and welcomed the members and guests. The rooms presented an attractive scene, vases of lilacs and tulips being arranged throughout. Miss Mary McGregor sang two beautiful numbers, "Love and Music', I Have Laved For," from the opera "Tosca," and "Maid of Cadiz." 'Miss Nola Mathews was at the piano. Highly interesting remarks were made by Mrs. Fisher on her trip through Old Mexico, and in relating her many experiences, she displayed a va-3 riety of hand-made souvenirs col- , j-y y-v iected while In Mexico. Also, she) showed pictures which she sketched sketch-ed and painted on the trip. The interesting afternoon concluded con-cluded with tasty refreshments. Knight (Grace Hallan) who were married at Reno. Nev., April 23. The bride formerly lived in Provo. and her many friends here will be interested to learn of her marriage. A number of informal socials were given in honor of the newlyweds, who returned to southern south-ern California, where they will make their home. Luncheon Tendered Past Matrons A tastefully appointed 1:30 o'clock luncheon was given by Mrs. C. H. Funk and Mrs. Alva Nelson at the Funk home Frl-Jay, for members of the Past Matrons Circle Cir-cle of O. E. S. The serving tables and entertaining enter-taining rooms were bright wtih flowers of the season, and favors were given. A business meeting followed and sewing and music were .the diversions. Senator's Daughter Weds Salt Lake Man SALT LAKE CITY, April 28 (UR) Miss Edna Lou Thomas, 21-year-old daughter of United States Senator Elbert D. Thomas, D., Utah, and Lawrence Lee Hansen, 22, Salt Lake City, were married in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple yesterday. The couple, formerly of Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, attended the University Uni-versity of Utah this winter and will, return to Washington to make their home at close of the present term, when the bride graduates. M-. and Mrs. Hansen will leave tonight for a short wedding trip through the National parks ol southern Utah. Students to Tour Southern Utah Approximately thirty Provo high school science students left Friday morning for a five-day trip to Zion and Bryce canyon, Boulder dam. and other points of interest, to study geological and biological phenomena in southern Utah and Nevada. This trip is a yearly event of the geology and biology classes. Kenneth E.
