P. Whitehead performed the ceremony cere-mony at 7 :30 o'clock. The chapel was beautifully decorated with baskets ajid vases of dahlias,' marigolds and roses. Woffinden of Cedar City, formerly of Provo, of the enegagement of their daughter, daugh-ter, Verda, to Charles L. Searle, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Searle of Kalespell, Montana. The marriage is to take place October 19 in the Salt Lake temple. tem-ple. The young couple will make their home in Panaca, Nev., where Mr. Searle is employed. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely love-ly ..in a gown of shell pink net over white silk taffeta. Her veil, also of pink net, was lie Id in place with a dainty wreath of pink roses, and she carried beautiful beau-tiful bride's roses. She was attended by Miss Beth Carter, who wore blue silk taffeta, with trimmings of rose velvet, and Miss Orpha Peay, a sister of the ETOom. who was in blue mousse- t line de soire. They carried pale pink roses and sweet peas. Jay Angus was best man. Four-hundred guests attended thereception, which immediately followed, and the bridal party was joined by the bride's parents, Lamar La-mar Peay, the groom's eldest j brother, and his wife, in forming the receiving line. New Member Is Welcomed Miss Dorothy Janson was hostess host-ess to members of the Dell-Ite club Friday evening at her home. An elaborate dinner was served at long tables, beautifully decorated decor-ated .with a profusion of fall flow- fl nrs. Music, chat and sew ng were -ine diversions. Mrs. Olga M. Cook was welcomed wel-comed into the club, Mrs. Ruth rebbs and Mrs. Erma Olseh were guests, and the following members mem-bers were present: Mrs. Alice Hood, Mrs. MacCene Grimmett, Mrs: Delia Maynard, Mrs. Hazel Janson. McQuilikin of Salt Lake City were at the meeting and five pledges were taken for membership member-ship in the Provo club. Provo women present were Mr3. Mary F. Smith, Mrs. Ina C. Brown, Mrs. Margaret P Maw, M'Js Amelia Buckley and Mrs. J. J. Durrant. Messages from Dr. Anna E. Sprott, president of the national organization of Vancouver, B.C., and Attorney Alta G. Hengy, re gional director of Oroville, Calif., were read. Girls Enjoy Candy Pull Mardyn Simmons gave a delightful de-lightful candy pull at her home Friday evening, for the following girls: Helen Oldroyd, Athean Knudsen. Gloria Singleton, Dorothy Dor-othy Hoover, Betty Steadman, Marjorie Sumner, Patty Lee Brockbank; Rose Taylor and Lav-ina Lav-ina Hoover. An interesting open session of the Acacia club was held at the home of Mrs. Emil Jacobsen Friday Fri-day afternoon, with Mrs. Lavar Chrl'stensen. president, as co-hostess. Welcome remarks were made By the presidnet, after which Miss Eunice Bird gave a splendid review re-view of "Katrina." Tasty refreshments re-freshments were served. Les Amies Club At Enjoyable Party Misj Zella Peterson entertained Friday evening at her homo for members of the Les Amies club. Hindmars'o son of Mr. and Mrs. Parley d. Hindmarsh of Provo. Wedding plans are being made for late October, the nuptials to be held in the Salt Lake temple. An electric service in Prc-vo prior to 1912 was considered "good enough," even though rates were high and breakdowns many. Private ownership and individual initiative have brought both the automobile auto-mobile and your electric service to their present high state of perfection, at low cost. Prove is served by an interconnected system which includes 40 generating plants, instead of the single, isolated plant of 1912. Rodney Crosley and Charles Wilson of Cowley, Wyo., were visitors in Provo Saturday. Roy McPherson of Nephi, was a visitor in Provo Saturday. Mrs. J. L. Sudall of Idaho Fall?, Ida., was among the visitors in Provo Saturday. Mrs. Ruth Young underwent a major operation at the Aird hospital hos-pital Saturday morning. Stanley Gram was here from Logan on business, Saturday. II. Haddon of Salt Lake City, spent Saturday with Provo friends. Sir. and Mrs. Dean J. Markham have returned from a delightful 10-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Morgan at Santa Ana, Cal. Also, they visited in other cities. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Reynolds and daughters, LaRae and Carol Ann arrived home Friday evening from a .two weeks' trip to southern south-ern California. Most of xlhetime was spent in Los Angela?, Hollywood Holly-wood and Beverly Hills. They stopped at Boulder dam en route home. Master William Blane of Spring City, underwent a major operation at the Aird hospital Friday night. Mrs. L- N. Oakley has returned home from San Francisco Cal., where she haa been spending the .past three weeks wh her sister, Mrs. Abbie Froling, who has been seriously ill. BRIDE-ELECT OF WEEK Mr. and Mrs. W. The marriage is to take place in the Salt Lake temple October. 14, and a reception recep-tion will bQ tendered the couple Saturday evening, October 15, in the Sharon ward hall. They will live at Vernal, where Mr. Stone is employed by the Uta"h Power and' Light Company. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Lincoln high school, and has been employed at the Caider Beauty salon in Vernal for the past six months. Games were followed by a delicious de-licious Hallowe'en lunch, and gaj orange and black caps, noma and other motifs of the season were given as favors. Lovely gifts were presented to Beverly.
