C, where the cuf,g couple will reskle. Mr. Dunkley is employed in government service there, i.nd expt-cts to enter George Washington university in the fall. Miss Christensen is a graduate of the Provo high school, and is vice president of the P. H. S. Alumnae association. Shv has attended the B. Y. U-, where she was a ir.emr.e? of the Fdelas social unit, and at present, is secretary at the Franklin school. She is well known as a musician, appea ring constantly before the public with her marimba, and was an entertainer at Bryce canyon lodge for two years. She is a member of the Young Composers' Society of Utah. Mi Dunkley is a "Y" graduate, a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, and the Val Hyric social unit. He fulfilled a mission m the soutnern states, and is affiliated with the Delta Phi missionary fraternity. . . Johnson, held at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar V. Carlson on North University Avenue. Mr. Johnson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Vern Johnson, also of Provo. Members of the two families, and close friends assembled for the 5 o'clock candlelight ceremony performed by Bishop Andrew Jensen of. Bonneville ward Handsome trass candelabra held 14 lighted white tapers, and there were other candles about the rooms, which were beautiful with baskets and vases of varicolored vari-colored tulips, bridal wreath and white lilacs. The bride's exquisite wedding gown was of white brocade chiffon velvet, and she wore a filmy veil of net, with deep chenile lace trim. A coronet of seed pearls and orange blossoms was attached to the veil cap of chenile lace. She cairied beautiful roses. Attending as bridesmaids were the Misses Marjorie Nuttall, Lillian Parton of Salt Lake City, a cousin, and Virginia Boshard, who wore dainty frocks of pink, blue and yellow chiffon, respectively. Also, Chey wore chic veils of net the same shades as their dresses, with trimmings of organdie flowers, and they held dainty nosegays. Eugene Bailey was best man. A reception immediately followed, during which marimba music was played 03' Miss Francell Christensen, and Jack Smith entertained with vocal solos. Tasty refreshment were served to 50 guests, the table being centered with a large wedding cake. Also, pieces of wrapped and initialed wedding cake were given the guests. The wedding gifts were beautiful. After a short trip, the young couple will settle at 719 West Center street. PLIGHTS TROTH STOKES Announcement is mace by Dr. and Mrs. A. C. Lambert, of the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Edith Moselle, to Mark F. Nielsen, assistant manager of the J. C. Penney store at Vernal, Utah, -and a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nielsen of Spanish Fork. Wedding plans are being made for Friday, May 27. the nuptials to take place in the Salt Lake temple. A formal reception will be tendered by the bride's parents the same evening, at Hotel Roberts. After a short trip, the young couple will make their honje in Vernal. The bride-to-be has attended the B. Y. U., and is secretary to Mayor Mark Anderson. She is a member of the Epsilon -chapter of Delta Theta Chi, national social and cultural sorority. Mr. Nielsen is also well known here, having worked at the Provo Penney store for five years before leaving to take over his present position at Vernal. He formerly attended the B. Y. U.. where he was affiliated with the Vikings. Mitra social unit of the B.Y.U., Friday night in Memory Grove, Salt Lake City. The theme was carried out in the program, table decorations, place cards, and the toast wrich was given by Maude Jensen. Responses Re-sponses were given by Ramona Hinckley, Rhoda Laye, and Dr. Russell Swenson. A violin duet wag rendered during the dinner by Laurel Peterson and Mary Huntington Hunt-ington accompanied at the piano by Margaret Reid. The floor show during the dance consisted of tap dancing and songs by two small children of Salt Lake City, and two songs by the Alta Mitro trio, consisting of Verl Brailsford, Nellie Beal and Maude Jensen-Patrons Jensen-Patrons were Dr. and Mrs. Russell Rus-sell Swenson, Mr. and Mrs. An-tone An-tone Nisson and Mr. and Mrs. N. Max Roberts gave a family dinner at their home Friday evening, for their youngest daughter, "Colleen, on the occasion of her fourth birthday anniversary. A large white birthday cake with "Happy Birthday" inscribed in pink, formed the table centerpiece, center-piece, surrounded by tiny pink baskets of candies. Red tapers were in silver holders. Birthday wishes were made and lovely gifts presented to Colleen from the following: Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Duckett, Jack and Beverly Duckett, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Buckett, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ram-beau, Ram-beau, the host and hostess and Maxine and Nadfrie Roberts. presented. A delightful function of Saturday Satur-day night, was the annual invitational invita-tional semi-formal dancing party of the Gold Bricker social unit of the "Y", held at Memorial hall in Springville. One-hundred and fifty couples attended the smart affair, at which Dr. and Mrs. Loren C. Bry-ner. Bry-ner. Dr. and Mrs. Wesley P. Lloyd, Meredith Wilson and Miss Marian Wilson were patrons. The "Q" Collegians furnished the dance music, and at intermission, intermis-sion, the Bricker quartet, comprising com-prising Ralph Alder, Malcolm Booth, Rex Thomas and Bud i Jackson sang "Bricker Haven Sweetheart." Refreshments were served. The large unit shield, illuminated, il-luminated, was the main decorative decor-ative feature. The members will meet at the Provo library, at 5:30 o'clock, prompt. Operators from Lehi and Pleasant Grove will also join the Provo and American Am-erican Fork women. One of the outstanding spring social functions was the B. Y. U. Val Hyric's tenth annual formal dinner-dance, held Saturday evening eve-ning at Memorial house in Memory Mem-ory park, Salt Lake City. "Maytime." was the picturesque theme of the evening. The house was surrounded with flowers, shrubs and all the grandeur to provide the fitting atmosphere of the silhouettes. The program consisted of the following numbers: "Maytime," Ray Jacobson; "Welcome," Harry Clark; "Mystical Moonbeams," Vernon Christensen; "Sparkling Water s," Kenneth Aycock; "Lovers Rendezvous,' Voyle Munson and "Maytime Reveries," Darrel Soffe. Peter Speros was master of ceremonies. The tables were beautifully decorated dec-orated with bouquets of tulips and glistening candles on either side. Corsages and boutonnieres also added to the display. Boxes of monogramed handkerchiefs as favors, and attractive dance programs pro-grams completed the table decorations. In the receiving line were: Ray Jacobson, Pansy Hansen, Harry Clark, Wilene McMullin, Howard Ballard and Merlyn Romney. Dean and Mrs. W. P. Lloyd and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Broadbent were patrons. Ray Jacobson, Peter J. Speros, Vernon Christensen and Howard Ballard were the committee in charge. The annual spring formal dinner-dance of the B. Y. U. Thalians, held at the Lion House in Salt Lake City, Saturday evening, proved one of the nicest parties of the week end. A "Maytime" theme was created, cre-ated, the long banquet table being be-ing centered with a Maypole, around which tiny dolls "danced." Like arrangementsiof smaller make were at the table ends, and the place cards bore the unit shield in gold. Cellophane backed dance programs were attractive. Carnations boutonnieres were presented pre-sented to the young men. Miss Helen Marshall was toast-mistress, toast-mistress, and toasts were given as follows: "To the Fellows," Miss Ileen A. Waspe; "To the Girls," Harry Sundwall ; "Remembrances," Miss Catherine Hall. A violin duet was played by Miss Thelma Holland Hol-land and Robert Eastland. The Penrose Melodians were engaged en-gaged to furnish dance music during dur-ing the evening, and during intermission, inter-mission, a trio, comprising Erma Whiting, Wanda Williams and VaLoise Gardner sang the "Thal-ian "Thal-ian Song." and "Maytime." In the receiving line were: Miss Mae Carey, president; Ralph Wilkins, Miss Catherine Hall, chairman; Boyd Olsen, Miss Erma Whiting, vice president; Ralph Dalton; Miss Ileen Waspe and Weldon Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. George S. Ballif, Dr. and Mrs. A. C. Lambert, Miss Ileen Waspe and Weldon Taylor-were Taylor-were sponsors. in serving, and beautiful carnations carna-tions were used on the dining table. Members of the club presented pre-sented the hostess with a beautiful pyralm dresser set. Guests were: Mrs. Hyrum Brown, Mrs. Arthur Snow. Mrs. Marcia Jolley, Miss Marcia Jol-ley, Jol-ley, and Mrs. Arthur Thome of Price, and the members present included: Mrs. J. J. Nusink, Mrs. Harvey Higgins, Mrs. George H Carter, Mrs. Robert Phillips, Mrs. E. G. Five Hundred was played after dinner, and Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Nusink won first and second favors. Lilacs and tulips were combined com-bined .'n decorating the small serving serv-ing tables.
