An investigation of turkey marketing mar-keting operations of the concern in 1936 were made . by the department de-partment which., found turkeys worth $1,003,251 were sold to the company. Growers of this county received $817,792 but should have received $850,089 the department contends. By acting as a pool rather than as individual transaction the company com-pany violated the produce dealers' deal-ers' act. It sold to itself and other interested parties thereby making an illegal profit; the firm also took unearned deductions it is said The company may appeal to district court from the department de-partment decision. HENRY FORD TO ADDRESS EDITORS NEW YORK. April 23 U.P Henry Ford will be one of the principal speakers at the annual convention of the American News- which brings 500 editors and publishers to New York next week. He will address the dinner of the AX PA's bureau of advertising paper Publishers' association I Thursday night. Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Blackett who were married Saturday Sat-urday evening, a reception for 250 relaitves and friends from Spanish Fork and adjocent towns was held at the Firemen's hall Wednesday evening. Dancing was the main diversion, a short musical program pro-gram was given under the direction direc-tion of Harmon Hatch with yocal solos by Miss Frances Johnson and Rolland Hand and a reading by Miss Lenore Sterling of Pay-son. Pay-son. Refreshments were served. Honoring the marriage of Edward Ed-ward William Monk and Donna Clayson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archer Clayson, approximately 400 relatives and friends attended attend-ed a wedding reception and dance at the Lake Shore amusement hall Wednesday evening. The guests were from Lake Shore and nearby towns. Th M. I. A. girls of the Lake Shore ward were hostesses at a bride's shower prior to her marriage mar-riage at the Clayson home. The function partook also of the nature na-ture of a trousseau, as viewing the trousseau was the main diversion. di-version. There were 79 guests present, refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Argyle were hosts at a family dinner Saturday evening, in honor of the recent birthday anniversary of Mrs. Argyle. Dnner was served at 8 o'clock, covers being laid for Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Johnson, John-son, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert A. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Munda Gisleson, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Johnson and the immediate family fam-ily of the hosts. Following dinner the time was spent in visiting. Mrs. Kenneth Craven of Provo, formerly Grace Bowen of this city w,is able to return to her home Wednesday night followng a major operation at a Provo hospital hos-pital a week ago. Mrs. John E. Bowen went to Provo Thursday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Craven. Mrs. George Newitt and Mrs. J. R. Thomas were joint hostesses to the members of the Double-X club and a group of special guests, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Shippee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hone, Mrs. Beatrice West, Mrs. James D. Miller and Mrs. Marvin Zeigler, the latter of Los Angeles, Calif., at the Newitt home Wednesday evening. At 8:30 a hot supper was served at the card tables which were beautifully centered with narcissis. Progressive 500 followed, six tables being played, Mrs. Etta Tuttle and Charles Hone won high scores for the club and Mrs. Ruth Brockbank and Wm. Simmons the consolation prizes. Mrs. Beatrice West and Mr. Shippee won high scores for the guests and Mrs. James D. Miller and Arthur Hone consolation consola-tion prizes for the guests. Republicans To Meet at Sp. Johnson, Republican precinct chairman of Spanish Fork, has issued a call for a primary of all Republican voters of Spanish Fork to meet at the junior high school auditorium, Thursday evening. eve-ning. April 28 at 8 p. m., for the purpose of electing delegates to attend the county convention at Provo, May 5. A short general meeting will be held, after which the voters will separate to elect a chairman, a vice-chairman, secretary sec-retary and treasurer of each voting district, and delegates to the county convention.
