Jacob Croft Is "Called By Death Jacob Croft, father of EvanM. Croft of Brigham Young university univer-sity faculty, died at 11 a. m. Saturday Sat-urday morning at his home, 690 North First West. His death at the age of 65 followed a two months' illness. X native of Fillmore, Mr. Croft was one of the first pioneers in western Millard county, helping to develop irrigation and agriculture agricul-ture there. In the eighties he assisted as-sisted in the building of , a fort against the Indians. During his lifetime, most of which was spent in Millard county, coun-ty, he was active in the L. D. S. church. He came to Provo five years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mary Uliason Croft. ard by eight sons and daughters:" Evan M. and Elmo Croft, Mrs. Arvilla Anderson, Ander-son, and Mrs. Adeline Allen, Provo; Pro-vo; J. Brock-bank Brock-bank Mrs. Urmina Hyde PAYSON - Urmina Triphina Hyde, 78. died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Porter, 149 West First South. Mrs. , Hyde was born Janu-ayr Janu-ayr 12.' 160 at Lehi. to Patterson Delos and Elizabeth Carson Griffith. Grif-fith. She was married to Herman Hyde in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Endowment House May 9, 1877. They resided at Afton. Wyoming, until last November when they came to Payson to reside with their daughter. Besides her husband and daughter daugh-ter she is survived by two sons. Herman J. Hyde Jr., Auburn, Wyoming, and William Hyde, Fresna. California. The bodv will be sent ot Afton Mrs. Mary Simons PAYSON Mrs. Mary Ann Alleman Simons, 74, wife of Grant Simons, died Friday evening at the family home, 291 South Fourth East street. She had been an invalid in-valid for the past seven years. Mrs. Simons was born June 26. 1864 at Provo, a daughter of Thomas and Elmira Phillips Alleman, Alle-man, well known pioneer residents resi-dents of Payson. She was married to Mr. Simons in the Logan L. D, S. temple, October 15. 1885. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1935. She was the mother of nine children, two grown sons preceding her in death. Three sons were in the World war. Surviving are her husband; four sons. Blaine Simons, Provo; Edwin Ed-win R. and George D. Simons, Salt Lake City; Harold Simons, Spanish Fork; three daughters, Mrs. Edda Noon. Payson; Mrs. Emma Fereday, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Valentine Halverson, Helper; 26 grandchildren. eight greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; , three brothers, Thomas M. and Levi W. Alleman, Alle-man, Provo; Samuel Alleman, Salt Lake City; three sister. Mrs. Jesse Brown and Mrs. Nora Con-roy. Con-roy. Provo; Mrs. Dora Hanson, Salt Lake City. Interment Inter-ment in Payson City cemetery will be under the direction of the Claudin Funeral home. Charles W. Love Charles W. Love, 75, resident of Gardenia, Cal., formerly of Utah county, died Thursday in a Salt Lake City hospital. He had been visiting with his daughter, Mrs. J. Horace Bean of Pleasant View, when he became ill, and was taken to the hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a. m. at the Deseret mortuary chapel in Salt Lake City, and burial will be in the Provo City cemetery. He was born Nov. 11, 1862, in Nephi, a son of Andrew and Sarah Mariaht Humphrey Hum-phrey Love. He was the marshal in Nephi for several years. In 1900, he moved to Nevada, where he engaged in stock raising. His widow, Sarah Jane Evans Love of California, survives, also two sons, Junior Love, Salt Lake City, and H. E. Love, Ogden, and the daughter, Mrs. Bean; 10 grandchildren, grand-children, and one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Neff of Salt Lake City. Mathea Larson PLEASANT GROVE Mathea Larson, 53, lifelong resident of Pleasant Grove, died at her home Friday night. She was born here October 14. 1874, the daughter of Thomas C and Marie Hansen Larson. Lar-son. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Martin Peterson, Camille Larson, George W. Larson. Mrs. Herman Green, and a foster brother. Jack Peterson, Peter-son, Pleasant Grove; T. C. Larson, Lar-son, Provo and Justice. Martin M. Larson, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Barnett wa.-i born July 2, 1868 in Dixie, Utah, a daughter of J. H. and Evelyn Ellsworth. She was married to Mr. Barnett in the Logan L. D. S. temple, November No-vember 6, 1884. She was a very active worker in the Payson Second Sec-ond ward particularly in the Primary Pri-mary and Relief society organizations. organiza-tions. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Owen L.
