MANILA BROWN, Reporter Phone 223-W - , - iiiii r Mrs. Clair Turley Newberry, author of children's books, and son Stephen, who have made their home in Spring-vMle, the past several sev-eral months, left recently for an indefinite visit with Mrs. Newberry's New-berry's parents at Flint, Mich. They also plan to visit in New York City. Jim Wilkins and his sister Miss Maxie Wilkins of Richmond, Cal., formerly of Springrville, have spent the past several days with friends in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blanchard accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard and daughter Betty, visited during the holidays with the latter's daughter. Mrs. Clifford Richmond and family in Salt Lake City. Betty Blanchard remained in Salt Lake City during the holidays. holi-days. Announcement is made of the marriage last week of Mss Zetta Burrows, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Burrows of this citj and Raymond Lund of Thistle. Mr. and Mrs. VV W. Clyde and family left the latter part of the week on a vacation trip to the west coast. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Richardson who were married here recently left Friday, to make their home in Pensacola. Fla. In their honor numerous social events have been given here and in Provo and Salt Lake City. Mrs. Louise Harmer and Mrs. Thelma Harmer and children of Payson spent Thursday with relatives rela-tives and friends in Springville. Orvil LaCelle Harmer of this city and Miss Donna James of Spanish Fork, were issued a license lic-ense to wed last FrI'Jay at the county court house. Among the delightful parties of the past week was the birthday party given by Miss Benice Chader at her home Thursday evening for a number of friends. The contest is open to all Gleaner girls of Utah stake and entries must be given to the ward Gleaner leaders lead-ers not later than Tuesday night As a prize for the best entry submitted, the reading course book, "Step a Little Higher," by John Henry Evans, will be awarded award-ed the winner.
