Thirty couples attended the affair, af-fair, and were served at, small tables decorated in true Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en fashion. The hall was also arranged with Hallowe'en colors and motifs, and favorf were given. Club visitors were present from Salt Lake City, Ogden and Hollywood. Holly-wood. Betrothal Is Made Known By Couple Mr. and Mrs. Claud Burch of American Fork, are announcing the engagement of their daughter. Miss Jenny Burch of Provo, to Bryan Fugal, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Colors I Price "Y" Girls To Be Honored At Reception Freshman girls and all other girls attending the Brigham Young university for the first time, are invited to a reception to be given by the B. Y. U. Women's organization, organiza-tion, consisting of the lady members mem-bers of the faculty and wives of the faculty men. The affair will be held Thursday between the hours of 3:30 and 6:30 at the residence of President and Mrs. Franklin S. Harris on University Uni-versity hill. The guest of honor will be Mrs. J. Reuben Clark, whose husband is in the first presidency of the L. D. S. church and is the ,former ambassador to Mexico. A special feature will be exhibits entitled "Glimpses into Mexico". Mrs. Harris is chairman of the committee in charge. She is 1 assisted as-sisted by Dean Nettie Neff Smart, Mrs. Clarence Boyle, Miss Gladys Kotter, Mrs. Asael Fisher, Mrs. L. W. Oaks, Miss Carma Ballif and Mrs. William F. Hanson. This reception, which is a yearly function of the organization, is given with the hope of promoting social relationships between the B. Y. U. women and girls and of creating new social contacts among the girls themselves. Thalians Hold Dancing Party The B. Y. U. Thalians tendered a delightful dancing party for their rushees, Saturday evening at the Women's club house. One hundred couples enjoyed dancing to the music of the B. Y. U. Swing band The unit shield was prominently displayed, and beautiful flowers of the season, in the unit colors, purple and white, were arranged about the hall. The arrangements committee comprised: Myrtle Tanner, Dorothy Dor-othy Bowman and lone Johnson. Progressive Party Enjoyed By Girls Mrs. Leo Taylor and Mrs. Harold Har-old G. Clark gave a progressive party Thursday evening for the Bee Hive girls of the Third ward. Several of the girls homes were visited, games were enjoyed and a delicious luncheon was served dur ing the evening. Gleaner Girls At "Spooks" Party The Seconcr ward Gleaner girls entertained at the home of Miss Mildred Johnson, at a delightful Hallowe'en party. A visit to "Spook House" created a great deal of fun, after which games were played in keeping with the spirit of the occasion. A delicious de-licious luncheon was served to 20 members and the table was decorated dec-orated with orange and black motifs.
