Miss Davis appears in a role quite different from those which won her. the award of the Acad emy ol Motion picture Arts anu Four Great Stars in Paramount's Feature Pour great stars, a cast of ten thousand, and a story that flames with the intensity of Sahara's burning' sands, bring- one of the mightiest spectacle-dramas ox motion picture history to the screen in 20th Century's "Under Two Flags," opening today at the Paramount theater. Topping the star-studded story of flaming love and smoldering rebellion are Ronald Colman, Claudette Colbert, Victor McLag- , len and Rosalind Russell, who lead a supporting cast of forty character stars and numberless extras. The setting of the story is a sun-baked post of empire on the ,edge of the Sahara. McLaglen is the hard-bitten commander of a battalion of Legionnaires and his outstanding soldier in Ronald Colman. Miss Colbert plays "Cigarette" in this adaptation of Ouida's immortal im-mortal story cf the French Foreign For-eign Legion. A lovely flirt, she toys with the affections of Victor McLaglen, major in the legion, .until she meets Colman, who is only in the ranks. Then she impulsively im-pulsively loses her heart to him. Supporting the four stars are Gregory Ratoff, Nigel Bruce, C. Henry Gordon and J. Edward Bromberg. The companion feature on today's to-day's program is the modernized version of George M. Cohan's "Song and Dance Man." The picture pic-ture featuring new songs, new laughs and new pathos, presents Claire Trevor, Paul Kelley and Michael Whalen in the leading roles.
