Graham, well known Provo couple, which took piace Saturday evening eve-ning at the residence of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Beebe of Springville. Mr. Graham is a son of Mrs. Etta Graham of Provo. Bishop Walter P. Whitehead of the First ward officiated, the 8 o'clock ceremony being performed in the presence of close family members and the bride's intimate friends, Miss May - Sutton, Miss Helena Bates and Mrs. Alice M. Corleisen. V The bride wore a lovely gown of peacock blue silk crepe, and a dainty corsage ol rosebuds. Beautiful fall flowers were arranged ar-ranged about the rooms. Following Follow-ing the ceremony, a tastefully appointed buffet supper was served Mrs. Graham is a graduate of the Provo hih school, and is a member of the Lambda Tau and the X clubs. She has been employed em-ployed in the office of the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe company for the past five years. Mr. Gra ham is employed at the Firestone Service. Woodward, 531 North Second East street, Monday at 3 o'clock. Mrs. C. R. Cluff will discuss the Roosevelt Tax-the-Rich bill, and Mrs. Abe W; Turner will discuss dis-cuss "Recent Changes in the AAA . Miss Nielsen, a daughter of Mr .and Mrs. Peter Nielsen of Springville, is soon to wed Cris-mon Cris-mon Lewis of Boston, Mass., formerly for-merly of Salt Lake City. She will leave next week for Boston, where the marriage is to take place and where they will reside. Both are well known in Provo. having been prominent students at the B. Y. Ward of Springville. The convention commenced at 10:30 o'clock. Solemn Pontisical mass was celebrated by His Excellency Ex-cellency Bishop James J. Kearney and the sermon was given by Rev. Joseph S. Keefe, superintendent of Catholic schools. Music was furnished furn-ished by the choir of the Judge Memorial school. The visiting delegates dele-gates were guests at a luncheon given by the Parent-Teachers' association of the school. At the afternoon session, greetings greet-ings were given by Mrs. A. H. S. Bird, president of the Salt Lake council. Officers were retained for the coming year. Bishop Kearney spoke on the subject, "The Study Club In a Program of Catholic Action." A talk on "The Need of Dogmatic Religion," was given by Monsignor Duane Hunt, and the subject, "Making Study Clubs Successful," was treated by Father Robert Dwyer, Diocesan supervisor of study clubs. Piano selections were rendered by Mrs. Ethel H. Hansen. Miss Mariam Marks, field secretary foi the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine of the National Catholic Welfare couneil. An open discussion discus-sion followed, and the convention closed with the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Hymns were sung by the delegates. Birthday Surprise Proves Delightful A lively house party was held by the executive officers of the various organizations of the Pio neer ward, in honor of William D. Norman, member of the bishopric, bish-opric, at his home Friday evening. eve-ning. The affair was in the form of, a surprise, and was held to celebrate cele-brate Mr. Norman's birthday anniversary. an-niversary. Checketts is announced by Mrs. Jessie L. Harris of Provo, grandmother of the groom. The ceremony was formed at the Wilshire ward hall Saturday evening, Sept. 28, Bishop Clark of the Hollywood ward officiating. The young couple will make their home in Hollywood. Mr. Checketts is employed by the A. and P. "Chain stores. He served four years as a U. S. Marine, being honorably released from duty Feb. 1, 1933. He spent two years in central America. Managua, Nicaragua. The marriage of Miss Romaine Cody to Gordon Hoffman of Springville, is announced by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Cody of Provo parents of the bride.
