Mrs. Arvel King, president, welcomed wel-comed the women and introduced Mrs. Prank Madsen as toastmist-ress. toastmist-ress. Responses were made by Mrs. Roy Hoover and Mrs. Arnold Boshard. A reading was given by Mrs. Leo Taylor, Christmas carols were sung and Mrs. David Goodman and Mrs. Wells Richmond Rich-mond sang "O Little Town of Bethlehem." Gifts were exchanged. The following old members joined the group: Mrs. Arnold Boshard, Mrs. S. Gam Carter, Mrs. Darrel Barker and Mrs. M. L. Ba.rd of American Fork. All members were present, as follows: Mrs. Arvel R. Morgan, Mrs. Leo Taylor, Mrs. G. R. Willett, Mrs. Ellis Peay, Mrs. David Goodman, Mrs. Arvel King, Mrs. Wells Richmond, Mrs. Neil Tuttle, Mrs. Frank Madsen, Mrs. William Whittle, Mrs. Roy Hoover and Mrs. Frank Lawrence. BrienhoU. A Christmas party in the form of an informal dancing party at the Manavu ward iiall Dec. 28 was planned. Couple Honored By Val Norns The Val Norns of the B. Y. U. met at the home of Mrs. Le Roy J. Roberisoa, sponsor, Monday evening. The affair was in the form of a Christmas party and lovely gxts were exchanged. Also, later in the evening, the girls sang their "Sweetheart Song" and "Bride Song" to Ruth Lundquist and Hamilton Rebentisch, who are soon to be wed. They were presented with the traditonal Val Norn electric clock. Little Folks at Birthday Party A birthday party was given by Mrs. Seymour Gray for her seven-year-old daughter Carol, Saturday Satur-day afternoon at the family home. "The little forks enjoyed games and a delicious luncheon and were given mechanical toys as favors. The birthday cake was colorful with green trimmings and red candles. Bobby Thayer and Stephen Steph-en Christensen won the prizes. Those present were: Stephen Christensen. Les Amies Club Dinner; Gifts A dinner, followed by games and an exchange of gifts were features of the Les Amies club's Christmas event held at Keeleys Monday evening. Sylvia Hoover and Mrs; Dorothy, Jackson, fj ff- y - IS Kecreation Workers Yule Dinner An outstanding social of the Yuletide season was the dinner-dance dinner-dance enjoyed by the Utah county recreational workers and their partners Monday evening at Keeleys. Covers were laid for 60 persons, the table being beautifully ar ranged in a blue and white scheme. Tiny trees, candles and embossed placecards were employed. em-ployed. Mrs. Phyllis R. Brown was chairman, and little Marilyn Duke, in costume, gave readings and brought letters from Santa Claus to Mrs. Ireta B. Mason, toastmist-ress. toastmist-ress. The letters, all in rhyme, were read before each number on the program. The theme song, "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," was sur by the group, led by Mrs. Jena V. Holland, with Byron Jensen at the piano. A musical reading was given by Patricia Hatch; vocal solo, Ada Phillips of Lehi; skit, Erma Bamett and Dale Evans of Payson; vocal solo, Kerby Allen, Orem; floor show, under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Phyllis R. Brown. During the dinner, gifts were presented to .Vera Thorpe of Salt Lake City, state director of recreation; rec-reation; Miss Gunda Anderson of Salt Lake, state supervisor of dancing, and Mrs. Jena V. Holland Hol-land of Provo, state director of women's and children's work. Special prizes were awarded as follows: For the Lambeth walk, Commissioner Jesse M. Haws and Mrs. Vern Thorpe; .waltz, Mrs. Ruby Cox of Spanish Fork and Kerby Allen; birthdays nearest Christmas, Sargent Barnett of Payson and Mrs. Byron Jensen; to those with the largest and smallest small-est feet in "Have You Seen My New Shoes," Arthur Sabey of Lehi, largest; Mrs. Byron Jensen, smallest; Christmas matching contest, Gunda Anderson and Elmo Allred. Diner was served it 8:30 the large table being centered with a gaily decorated Christmas tree and green tapers in old fashioned brass holders- Miniature Christmas Christ-mas trees held the place cards. After dinner progressive "Merry Christmas" was played, the prize was won by Lorin Johnson. Guests included Georgia Culli-more, Culli-more, Ruth Hanson, Jean Reese, Louise Olsen.
